We're still rolling with our Winter 2016 announcements, and next on the list is Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 3 set to premiere every Sunday starting January 10th @ 12:35PM and will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide excluding Asia.

The thrilling horror series returns for a third season, and promises even more Japanese ghost stories and urban legends. These stories are framed in each episode by an old man telling these tales to schoolchildren using kamishibai, a traditional Japanese method of storytelling using paper scrolls.

We'll have another announcement at 1PM PST today!

Another Winter 2016 announcement! Ooya-san wa Shishunki! will premiere every Sunday starting January 10th @ 7:30AM PST, and will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide excluding Asia.

Ooya-san wa Shishunki! follows the antics of Chie Satonaka, a middle schooler who is a landlord. Though she appears a little girl, at times, she behaves more like a grandmother, doing all the cleaning, cooking and housework around the apartment. Despite her responsibilities, she still enjoys a normal middle school life with her friends.

We'll be back tomorrow with more announcements!

We're back with another Winter 2016 simulcast announcement! Next on the list is Schwarzes Marken premiering every Sunday starting January 10th @ 10:35AM PST!

Schwarzes Marken will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide excluding Asia.

In 1983, the East German Army 666th TSF Squadron, “Schwarzes marken,” is a special-response force tasked with assaulting BETA forces. They specifically target Laser and Heavy Laser class BETA to disable their enemy’s immense firepower. This merciless team’s orders are given the highest priority, and they follow them so exactly that the 666th is known to ignore allied distress calls that would interfere with an ongoing mission, even if only for a moment.

We'll be back with more announcements - stay tuned!

Speaking of Aldo Adige/South Tyrol (which I had to look up, sorry autonomous province of North Italy - you learn something every day) I would never have considered that licensing and geoblocking could happen on the regional level Has this ever happened before? Also, being treated as if they're part of the German-speaking world must suck for the (according to Wikipedia) 25% of the people there who speak Italian.

I've seen Switzerland split into French-speaking and German-speaking regions, and Quebec included with French-speaking rights, rather than (or perhaps in addition to) Canadian.

Interesting. It's not something I've paid attention to before (the 'what the heck is an Aldo Adige' factor was what made me notice this time), but I'll definitely look out for regional splits from now on. This just seems somewhat petty, considering how tiny Aldo Adige is compared to places like Quebec.
