Well, since all my guesses but one were wrong yesterday, I'm going to use reverse psychology and predict that Crunchyroll will NOT announce GATE 2, Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Please Tell Me! Galko-chan! and Sekkou Boys today. (Please work, reverse psychology, I really really want most of those shows XD)

EDIT:

Also, off-topic but still relevant to the discussions we had in the previous announcement thread, Funimation has officially announced that they're launching in the UK in February (but only the UK, sigh): http://www.funimationnow.com

I saw this as well, but I was unsure how good this will actually be, I don't really get the difference between Funimation and FunimationNow, 'Now' seems somewhat different :s Not entirely sure, but the other thing the website seems to suggest is that you can only get the AllAccess pass, i.e. they're leeching people of money because they don't like people only paying for subbed content... They might just have not mentioned the SubPass on the FunimationNow website, continuing their trend of acting like everyone who doesn't like dubs is a second-class citizen, but it strongly implied that the AllAccess pass was all that will be available for FunimationNow -.-

(it is very possible I have completely misconstrued it but based on past experiences of how Funimation treats SubPass users, my faith in them is not great)

From what I gathered, 'Funimation Now' is just the rebranded name for the streaming service, to differentiate it from the company itself (which also handles R1 disc sales, dubbing, NA theatrical distribution, etc.) It counteracts the idea that everything they stream they must also put on disc themselves. Makes sense for a company moving into areas where they aren't selling discs and streaming shows they haven't licensed themselves - i.e. Durararax2!! can be streamed on Funimation Now without it being a Funimation show (since it's an Aniplex show). If they want to expand their catalog and aspire to be a one-stop-shop, distinguishing their streaming from their licensing makes sense.

As for the different passes, well, that sounds... less-than-good. I don't know what their current membership plans are, but if they ever move into Scandinavia, I hope there's a sub-only plan available.

Not that I can look any of this up anymore, though, because unlike earlier today I'm not even allowed to see the website now. Talk about not being international-friendly.

Well well well, we ARE getting one of Sentai's new shows after all! The mystery deepens...

Oh, and great regions once again. This season is actually not bad for Scandinavia at all - so far, we're only blocked on two shows, and one of them is available on Daisuki instead.

Ah I guess that would make sense clearly I didn't put enough thought into it (as regards separating themselves from the name 'Funimation' as a company).

As regards the different membership plans, they have a 'Sub-Pass' which I think is about $40 for 1 year, and an 'All-Access Pass' which I think is about $60 a year, and this allows access to all subbed and dubbed content.
I was probably a bit strong in my wording about this, they don't really treat sub-pass users badly, it is just very obvious that they only care about the money, because even when you pay for a sub-pass they still have signs everywhere saying 'Upgrade Plan!' and things like this, also in every description of the different passes they sort of imply that people that just buy the sub-pass are less worthy of their time and not 'true fans' or whatever. The website's sole mentioning of the All-Access pass is probably just an extension of this, and I suppose in retrospect that if they are still calling it an 'All-Access pass' then that implies there are other passes that don't provide 'all access.' Still, what I meant was that I wouldn't put it past them to make this the only option, so that even those who will never watch anything dubbed will have to pay for the dubbed content lol.

Yeah also about the website being unavailable for everyone outside the US and Canada I seriously don't get what's up with that, I mean I would expect it to be visible to people in the UK at least, I doubt very much that citizens of the US and Canada are particularly interested in the service being made available in the UK in February

Strange indeed.

But yeah. For the larger part. Things are looking good this season.

Awesome PSO2 is available for me to watch. I'm so glad Crunchyroll is getting all the good stuff.

ERASED was amazing and Active Raid seems interesting. Bring it on CR.
