What would you do if you only had two dollars to give your husband/wife a birthday/Christmas present?

I've been in that position.

We spent the day doing fun things with each other and the kids. We went sledding, built snowmen, drank hot coco around a bonfire .....

My kids still remember that year.

Remember when you were a kid, and you couldn't afford to give your parents anything for Christmas except fun-experience "gift certificates"?

Cheap, but still effective.

I was big into arts & crafts as a kid, macramé, needlepoint, ceramics. I made Christmas decorations every year from age 5+

I still do occasionally, for that special handmade gift, but arts & crafts are not cheap these days.

I'd take the two bucks and impulsively run out and grab them a nice treat. Come back to the house and find something very valuable of mine to give them that they would appreciate/want. And explain everything.
