They aren't really used for anything in particular, they are more used to show how active you are in the community.
You get points for commenting in forums, talking in your buddy's guestbook, and stuff like that.

Something really pointless. It pretty much shows your experience in CR...

You also get points for just being a premium member...... The crunchy points aren't used for anything though, they used to be displayed under your username in forum post but not anymore.

You get crunchy points for being social on Crunchyroll! It's a measure of how involved you are in the community.

Here's what you earn:
2 points for each forum post, guestbook post, or video comment
1 point for voting in a poll
3 points for having a verified email
5 points for having an avatar
5 points for completing your profile (bday, loc, headline...)
2 points for each photo in your gallery
20 points for uploading a video (and it gets approved)
10 points for submitting a crunchyland design (and it gets approved)
200 points for creating an original subtitle on Crunchyroll (and it gets approved)
75 points for translating or working off an existing subtitle on Crunchyroll (and it gets approved)
20 points for uploading a subtitle file (and it gets approved)
1000 points for each month of Premium Membership purchased
Here's what you can do:
if you have 20 points, you can search for cr users
if you have 500 points, you can start a new forum topic

FYI, you are answering 2 year old threads (necro-posting) and answering with old information that is mostly obsolete now...

Crunchyland is long dead, along with creating avatars.
Uploading videos was from before CR became a legit site, that is not done here for many years now, and would be illegal.
Subtitling is all professionally done, no one can submit fansubs.
You don't get the 1000 points per month anymore

The 500 points for forum topics only applies if you are not a premium member, and it doesn't apply at all in the help forums.

Thanks asharka. I'm going ahead and closing this since it was my plan to start closing threads with last posts in 2016 tomorrow, which this one would have been without Jeffylikesties' necropost with inaccurate info.
