I have a premium membership Whenever I try to watch any episode on Crunchyroll with Chrome I get redirectted to this ad site:

If I try to go through Firefox, it tries to allow things from a web site that is not a Crunchyroll.com.

I tried going through the useless help link at the bottom of web site, but, there is no actual way to contact someone from support.

Edit: BTW, it does not do this to me any other streaming web site.

Have you tried disabling all your add-ons, and re-enabling them one by one to see if you have a malicious extension?

Do any of those other websites use Flash for streaming (like Hulu), or are they HTML5 (like YouTube)?

I will try that when I have time. But, I wouldn't think that would be the cause since it is happening in different browsers.

That looks like you have some sort of malware on your computer. Have you scanned your PC for any of that yet?

but i have found if i log in to my profile in incognito mode this does not happen.

hope it helps if i find out what the problem is i'll re-post.

Found it!!!

Found the problem to be as eyeofpain said, it was extension that was interfering, once deleted it should be back to normal.

the extension that had the problem was, the one that inverted the CR background colors that id totally forgotten i had.

Just to follow up on this, it is caused by the chrome extension crunchyroll enhanced. It looks like apriol used to be some kind of in-browser coding ide that is now a defunct parked domain with generic ads on it. If you remove that extension the problem will go away.

You're right. This is disappointing. I really like crunchyroll enhanced.

now that the extension is gone, I recommend going and running a scan with your antivirus to pick up any remnant files left behind it if any. Or if the ads put any malware on the system. If you don't have a good anti virus(Most other then microsoft essentials are "good") should do the trick. If you don't have a good anti virus, I recommend using Malwarebytes Anti Malware(Highly recommend for remedying infected systems) OR HitManPro which is the "UnderDog" of anti malware.

There is a problem with extensions (especially on Chrome) in that either a company comes along and gets a developer to add their adware to their next extension update for some money, or they just purchase it outright and do it themselves.

I already did so. I did it as soon as the ad got through my ad blocker.

Goodman! Or girl~

If you experience any more issues like pop ups or any programs that you didnt install, There are tools out there to remove what isn't considered malware but adware/junk. Theres ADWCleaner & Malwarebytes Junk Removal Tool, Both will clean up these kinds of programs that normal anti viruses don't go after/catch.

If you find yourself getting re-directed to different websites and don't find an extension or a program on your computer, Then some of your internet settings have been modified. In which case i recommend NetRepair Adapter Tool from Bleepingcomputer, Select all options on the tool and hit repair. This will get rid of any hidden proxy or dns server alterations to your system and basically turn everything to as if it was brand new settings.
