Dafaq?!? That's not even remotely rude/sexist/mean in the slightest! I can still understand not wanting to date a guy for any reason whatsoever, but to take a compliment and turn it into an insult...

Ladies, some of you just need some thicker anti-catcall skin. Just a simple no, ignore and walk away, don't let that shit bother you to the point of this overblown story. If they are thick in the skull and keep insisting, you have my blessing to chip away that bit of extra calcium with 1 good slap to the face:)

Once again, men being demonized for anything we do. Apparently asking women out is now sexist.

Well, yes... asking someone out in that context is at least unprofessional. Sexist or not? I don't know. His phrasing was a bit pathetic, so I think it's a sign of how bad pick-up lines are nowadays too. Though, if you look at how it would come off if you did the same thing in your office - you'd get penalized for sexual harassment as long as it happened within the confines of the office or during work hours.

I don't know why people (men or women) are surprised when people call them out for being unprofessional twats.

Was he fined by the government? If so, I have a huge, inconsolable problem with the government. If not, then I have a huge, inconsolable problem with the government that's unrelated to this particular issue.

Was he fined by the league/team? If so, then it seems they have a code of conduct for professionalism while on-the-clock. Fine. I've worked at a number of jobs that frown upon picking up dates on-the-clock. Nothing really out of the ordinary, except that I've never worked a job that could expect me to pay a fine of $10000, so they never even bothered to stipulate it in the contract.

Talk about ridiculous. I guess it won't be long now until men and women are separated like that episode in Fairly Odd Parents and the next generation will be test tube babies!

It was by the league/team. The government doesn't really care about such things (yet). But players do have a code of conduct they have to adhere to (sometimes even while off the clock, but always during interviews and the likes - as they speak on behalf of the team).
