I'm not surprised. She did say she was a rape activist. She could have been raped or perhaps not. The problem is that I highly doubt her intelligence precisely because she is a modern rape activist. What they teach is absolutely destructive and endangering to women--perhaps even themselves (which may or may not be the case here). They enforce the mentality that the problems lies in other people entirely. To promote it they forgo defense, rational precautions and reasonable actions. They place political messaging above safety. While it's fine to promote against those willing to do harm onto their fellow human beings, they must simultaneously prepare for the worst case scenarios. Reality is not a portrait of Utopian fantasy.

Fuckin' hell, even my father gave me pepper spray for Christmas this year as a 'stocking' gift. I found it funny. He didn't. Heh.

Either way she's an idiot. I'm more critical of her because this is the very shit they should not be teaching.

Revolting.

What worries me is that it might inspire someone else to try something like this, thinking it will do some good, and get them hurt. That's dangerous to me. In any case it sets a bad example.

It is hard to believe she's an honest victim. I do find it just as hard to disbelieve how honestly stupid someone can be as well.

Especially since this is the very idiotic and harmful message they put out--she still is.

"In a harrowing group of messages, the New York anti-rape campaigner said she was attacked by ‘Shakir’ after agreeing to have a shower with him, because the water in her own room was cold."

“I went back to my old hostel to leave a note for a friend, Nick. There was another guy there, Shakir, who was desperately trying to get with me."

“I kissed him once but he seemed drunk so I told him it was bad timing, I had already met someone. Before heading out, I went upstairs to say hi to one more friend, Clyde from the states. “Shakir followed me upstairs and said he was going to take a shower."

“He invited me to join. I said yes because the water at my current hostel is pretty cold and after 2 days of being sick, I just really wanted a hot shower. As soon as I got in the bathroom, he forced me to my knees. I said ‘stop!’, but he just got more violent.”

Call me a cynic but I'm really doubting the authenticity of this supposed story. There are so many mistakes that could've easily been avoided if all this happened in actuality. I'll point the obvious flaws in logic and reasoning because I just can't understand how anyone with a functioning brain wouldn't notice at least one red flag from all this.

For starters, she kissed a guy who was drunk and wanted to hookup with her "desperately". Why would she willingly kiss him knowing he was drunk and openly showed his lust for her? Scratch that, why did she kiss him if she was already with someone else? Was she drunk as well?

She went upstairs to say hi to her friend Clyde. Why didn't she ask to use this friend's shower? Was he physically there or did she greet him through web cam/ phone call or something? Something here just doesn't add up at all.

Then this Shakir says he's going to take a shower and asks her to join in, and she accepts. She wanted to take a hot shower, OK, but that was a textbook example of a mixed signal. Anyone could've easily seen her actions as the "playing hard to get" act.

In short, she willingly kissed a drunk guy who desperately wanted to hookup with her, agreed to take a shower with him, and the rest happens. If Clyde was actually there, why didn't she ask to use his shower instead taking a shower with a drunk stranger?

I just can't buy this as a legitimate occurrence that happened in real life, sounds fabricated and fictional to me until truthfully and honestly proven otherwise.

If you see a dark alley with a really scary looking guy that has a necklace of ears twirling a big knife and you choose to walk down it I won't say you deserved to have your ears sliced off or to be murdered. I will say that was ridiculously poor judgement and that you had no reasonable expectation that there would be no violence. This situation, if the depiction is accurate, is highly similar. If she was raped and some shred of reasonable evidence can be produced then the guy should suffer the legal consequences. I would venture as well though that either way she needs to find someone to take up legal guardianship of her person as someone with such poor judgement cannot be expected to function as a responsible adult. I don't willingly place myself in situations with dire consequences when it is unnecessary and would say that kind of judgement is a hallmark of responsibility and the kind of cognitive ability required for informed consent in the first place...

I just have to say after reading the article I do not believe this women. Just who blogs after an rape instead of calling the cops? Rape is a serious crime and if she faking an accusation then I wouldn't lose any sleep if she thrown in jail.

Why should you NEVER shower with a pokemon? answer: Because he might "peek at you" (Pikachu)

As for the young lady's "dilemma", all she needs to do is find a better way to fulfill her rape fantasy scenario that's a little less accurate. I'm sure the guys not the best of folk based on the fact he pulled the ole "Hey since you rejected me sexually, lets engage in the ONE activity requiring both our nudity..."
She kissed him, and got naked with him. She's not innocent in this. Like a preditor posing as a housepet this woman is a dangerous sociopath with a fixation on rape.
