Interweaving the fairy tales into the story as a point of moving the relationships forward was brilliantly done.

Goodness. They jumped way ahead in the story, but I guess that makes sense if they want to focus on the big stuff at the end. Shame they skipped so many little character moments, though.

Episode 6

So Sakuya can apparently see bits into the future (just unclear fragments I guess)

Meh this episode felt slow even with the action. It added more questions especially regarding the culprits that attacked Mikoto. The whole segments about the dreams felt repetitive again.

For some reason, Ron seems really suspicious to me this episode.

Episode 7

Weird episode. I felt like it was Halloween or something for a moment until they covered more relationship focus about Mikoto and Sakuya. Speaking of which, Mikoto might be in a bit of trouble now isn't she with that cliffhanger?

On a lighter note, the kiss happened!

The OST is great. That's all I wanted to say.

I'm also enjoying the show as a whole a lot more than I was expecting to, but the soundtrack really deserves some special mention, so here you go.

Episode 8

They really want to make this into a damn war lol

At least Mikoto survived (very predictable). Koharu also unleashes her power this episode. However going by all the storytelling and direction, it seems to still focus more on Mikoto or her route.

Episode 9

Still feels a bit messy imo.

We got some stargazing with Mikoto, background storytelling about her and the world again including the traveler, whom I still find as a very mysterious character. Not much action recently but we also got another revelation about siblings. And Shiranui's powers still remains mysterious to me...

Meh, this show is riding on a set of confusing wheels.

Episode 11

Geez, another world reset but it looks like Koharu isn't satisfied without Kakeru being there...

After all this buildup, execution, etc, it feels like we're back to square one again. Although it's kinda nice to learn more about Aion's purpose...

Darn Hulu, mislabeling episodes. They counted the recap, episode 9.5, as ep 10 and it threw everything off. I thought that this was the finale because of that. Glad its not.

Easily my favorite episode (except for maybe the fairy tale one). Learning how the guys are related to Aion is nice and watching everyone question the Reset has proved interesting. Some pretty cool ideas, even if the execution is somewhat lacking.

Ep 12: Finale

A mostly disappointing and predictable finale, sadly. The reset's interruption was just as cool to watch as the reset itself. The music, which has always been amazing, was at its best here. The last half was sort of hit and miss as the rest of the Norn crew go about their lives normally. Still happy that Kakeru came back in the end. Also glad that everything was resolved nicely. Pretty surprised that Ron was nice for once.

Norn is beautiful, even in ruins

Final Thoughts:

A pretty respectable adaptation in some parts. The OST was phenomenal. The music alone almost makes it worth the watch (or listen, rather). The visuals were excellent as well. Outside of that though, most everything was flat. There were too many characters with too little characterization. I liked that there were more than one pair, but Kakeru and Koharu were the only ones that felt developed as individuals or as a couple. The story itself was interesting, but took quite some time to develop and was executed strangely. Loved the aesthetics of the show but everything else simply felt weak in comparison.

Overall: 4/10

*nods*

I agree, and I reiterate my insistence, from the beginning of this topic, that anybody interested in what this anime shows should play the VN (if they have a Vita). The show only scratches the surface despite its best efforts.
