The first episode is up on The Anime Network, and just like with Norn9, a TAN subscription is needed to watch.

Also, it's on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/girls-beyond-the-wasteland

Episode 1

Bishoujo games are the furthest thing from Bunta's mind seeing that he's a helpful guy who is into writing dramas and works at his family restaurant. But Kuroda has taken notice as she has asked him to meet her for something. Do they go on a date at the aquarium seeing that "Bitch Queen" had been a loner. But in the end, her intention is to recruit him to work on a bishoujo game for his communication skills. This figures to be a fun show going forward. It's muck like Saekano, except that the roles are reversed as Kuroda is Tomoya, the otaku leader of the project, and Bunta is Utaha, the script writer who's just doing it because of his skills.

Is worth getting the Sentai Anime Network subscription for this? How good was the first episode? If it's amazing, then i'll get it. Anything less is not worth the sub just for this one series..

What's with Sentai these days? Is CR not getting these shows?

As for TAN, I've used that site once a few years ago and wasn't fond of their player. Actually prefer Hulu. As for the episode, I need to watch it again in HQ to reevaluate especially the second half.

Edit: my thoughts on the first episode:

Episode 1 thoughts

I thought the episode was somewhat fun but also silly.

Yuuka probably has the most energy out of the characters so far. They introduced most of the main cast though along with the OP song. Sayuki reminds me of Yukino for some reason. They have a similar voice tone as well. Well idk, episode felt slow and I'm not sure I like Buntarou either yet. Hope it will improve but not impressed so far. Yuuka's quite an energy ball though. Buntarou is going to learn more about games soon with Sayuri's influence so I hope the show can make that part amusing.

It aired hours ago, on Hulu now, and well, idk what else to say but it looks like CR might not get this show.

Episode 1

Do you want to make a game?!

Pretty simple and start-up episode today with character introduction and purpose coming along. I wonder if this series will dive in the mechanics of a bishoujo game or will it be like Saekano where it focuses on the characters rather than the game.

I'll keep up with this and see how it goes!

We should be hearing from them sometime soon as to what exactly the plans are seeing that their announcement regarding Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle doesn't have a streaming deal in the States. They were pretty vague and ambiguous about their streaming plans, and they need to come out and clear the air about their intentions. I always saw Hulu as just another place for anime to be streaming, but here it's turning into a place where some stuff can only be seen there.

And Stark, I think you should put your first episode thoughts on a separate post rather than to attach it to your root post from hereon out. Also, there are a few typos on it:

Fixed, thanks for pointing that out.

ep 1

All those references <3

So far this feels like Oregairu meets Saekano, which isn't a bad thing at all. Looking forward to how this pans out.
