Agreed, if they had had 5-6 episodes for that last arc to properly develop the Killers Chapter and the final showdown in the manga it would have been perfect, but the rush job at the end kind of nullified all the greatness up to that point.

I haven't read the manga but I agree that the anticlimactic ending ruined it. Could have been one of the top five of the year, but it barely made it in my top 10.

If you didn't watch Erased then let me tell you what it's about. Satoru Fujinuma is a 29 year old manga artist, but because that didn't go so well for him he has a job as a pizza delivery man. Satoru has a special power that he calls "Revival" which is the ability to go back 1-5 minutes into the past commonly happening before tragedy strikes. Now one fateful day Satoru is on his way for a pizza delivery, but on that pizza delivery "it" happens. Satoru experiences "Revival" and saves a young child. The only consequence to that were minor injuries. During that time Satoru's mother says that she will take care or him. One day they go grocery shopping and "Revival" is yet again experienced. Satoru tells his mother to start looking around, but she doesn't believe she saw anything except one man that seemed suspicious. Satoru's mother then recalls a tragedy that happened 18 years ago where there was a serial kidnapping and murder of 3 children. Kayo Hinazuki, Hiromi Sugita, and Aya Nakanishi. Over time Satoru's mother is thinking about the murder she figures out who it is and one night before Satoru arrives home his mother is murdered. He is then framed for the murder. Desperate to escape (even though he wasn't the murderer) he goes into hiding where he then "Revives" back 18 years and from there his responsibility to rewrite history.

Now that I'm done with the summary (sure is better than IMBD's) I want to state what I liked about Erased.

-Erased's plot was extremely well thought out with a bunch of twists and turns that will leave you thinking "Maybe they're the killer." The anime is extremely well done in other ways. At the end of each episode you WILL be left in suspense thinking "What happens next?!" During this anime you might feel like crying because of the happy and sad moments, such as when Satoru sees Airi for the first time after he rewrites history or when he sees Kayo.

-Erased's animation is extremely smooth and polished.

- Now my favorite part is the art. The art is so clean and polished and though the character models will sometimes look strange the art is amazing.

Things I dislike about the anime though is that at the end of Erased is that Hiromi marries Kayo and not Satoru! And in the younger years Hiromi showed absolutely no interest in Kayo or girls for that matter! I also thought Erased felt a little rushed at times and they revealed the teacher was the killer so quickly. Airi wasn't shown enough and I wish the anime went back to see what happens to Satoru in jail. I do like that Hiromi and Kenya got a lot of time in the show because I thought that Kenya especially was a lot of help to Satoru and Hiromi and Kenya were mostly Satoru's best friends. I thought the series overall was really heartwarming, suspenseful, and captivating. I plan on reading the manga and would overall rate the series 9.5/10. I also wanna say get Crunchyroll premium before watching this because you're going to need it. This is also an anime you might want to show kids because there isn't anything to bad.
