I'll watch it since I watch every football Anime, but my hopes aren't high to say the least. Doubt that this will be another Giant Killing, seems more like just another generic football centric Shounen to add to the pile. I hope that it manages to prove me wrong.

Sorry, not into sports, anime or otherwise.

We can expect decent animation then. So far all their adaptions that I've seen have looked nice. The boys look so cute. I'm hype.

A soccer anime? Meh not sure I'm int-

studio MAPPA

Ok, when does it air?

Edit: was episode 11 of Garo: Crimson Moon foreshadowing this? I'll pretend that it was.

I'm not watching the second season of Garo, but isn't that one complete shite? What's the reason for that anyway? Just lack of budget or time? You could have definitely done worse (Giant Killing got Deen after all) and I can't say that I'm hyped about this series at all so maybe my expectations are just low to begin with, but seeing MAPPA on this doesn't exactly raise them either. My faith in studio MAPPA has taken a severe hit in 2015.

I never watched Garo S2, so wouldn't know. But Kids on the Slope, Terror in Tokyo, Rage of Bahamut, and even Punchline ranged from some fantastic animation to pretty nice. Most of their works have a good track record, so I'm expecting something nice from them.

Budget plays into it, but mostly it's time and scheduling that leads to poor looking animation. OPM didn't have a budget any bigger than your standard anime, but because they provided the animators with time and old talent the work came out fantastic. Haikyuu!! S2 is another example of this. The animators were given a great schedule and began working on the season way in advance. By the time the show was airing they had completed more than half of the series. Basically, budget plays into it, but having a proper schedule has a large role as well.

I know that much, I was asking about Garo's second season specifically. Which is, according to people I tend to trust, god awful. And seeing how that is the most recent work that should be cause for worry. Then again, they were also working on Ushio to Tora during that.

Your question seemed kind of general, my mistake.
Do we know if MAPPA is a big studio or not? Because if they're small and they did more than one project at a time that could have caused the scheduling issues and so on which would make them rush. That and GARO isn't exactly a top seller, so maybe because it's a lesser important series they put the lesser impressive team on it with a rushed schedule. They seem rather new and rarely do projects, so maybe, could be that.

Did the author not check to see whether that name was already associated with a pretty well known character? I know you can't really lay claim to a name, but still... Well then, I look forward to when he gets excessively pissed off on the pitch and turns into a devil and wrecks the other team... And if that doesn't happen, I will be bitterly disappointed.
