The future of Konami's intellectual properties.
Posted 1/7/16

As a classic gamer girl growing up back to the old glory days of the SNES, I must admit, the changes at Konami were a heavy blow to me. As we all know, the company recently seemed to turn its back to its fans, and its own employees, it would seem. They were so awesome in the 90s. Anyway.. post hideo kojima and after Silent Hills , I don't blame ppl for how they feel. I share the sentiment.. but I digress , I didn't make it to say this.

I made this thread because of concern of there may never more be titles like Suikoden and the Castlevania of old. I wish there was someone, another company would buy them or they'd sell them, since they arent making many more. Its good to be hopeful others may think similar and can push for this.

(gotta admit, if anyone is cynical about the fate of the intellectual properties held by this company , its me. I honestly think they're going down with the ship. Sadly.:( )

Say what you will about them, but they were awesome once, and I still like to go back to the old games and forget for a little while

my main concern was the Silent Hill franchise. I have little hope a new one will ever come out. I think some of their titles will be sold and a new era will commence. all hail P.T.

Konami's Gradius 3 on snes was really fun. sadly, the game was only released until ps2. Gradius 6 for ps3 was canceled because reasons, and we didn't get a new one since.

Throughout 2015 I've been very disappointed in what has become of Konami. The problem is that the new CEO only knows about statistics and other stuff, and not the actual product history of Konami. Konami has a very rich product history, especially in concern to what they released during my childhood. For me, personally, it's so sad to look back and remember their arcade games and console games, then compare to what they have become now. I know things change in life, but still.

For all I know, Konami will either sit on their IP's or make Pachinko games out of them. They're also very interested in the mobile market, due to it costing less for production, with the hope of achieving high revenue. The whole thing with the Pachinko market is probably more complicated than it sounds, because I've been hearing about certain politics being involved. Whatever the case, what Konami's doing with their IP's is bullsh!t.

Kojima-san wasn't wrong to leave Konami, to say the least.
