Hi,

I'm currently on a 3-month cycle plan and want to change to the yearly payment. I currently pay via PayPal. I can see a button that says

Profile \ Settings \ Premium Membership Status \ Change Plan.

I go through, enter all my PayPal details, get to the end of all that and click submit...

Bam, Error 404. I've had this error since New Years Day and I left it a couple of days thinking maybe it's just a new bug that's affecting the site or something but then I put a ticket on the help desk about 2 days ago. Still haven't received a response. First time I've submitted a ticket so I don't know how these things usually take.

Am I supposed to cancel the subscription then re-subscribe? If that's the case then what is the point of having a change plan button there. I'd rather not cancel subscription then have to resubscribe when it finishes, I'd rather it keep rolling.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
And Happy New Year! (Or is it too late to say that now?)

I just tried the same thing, and also get the 404 when trying to switch to 1 year premium using PayPal (currently on premium+ 1 year recurring with PayPal). You normally should be able to switch memberships without cancelling, which is what I did last time, so this definitely seems to be a bug - could be between PayPal and CR, maybe.

I'm guessing the delay on a response is because of a backlog of holiday tickets that they're still working through, though that's just a guess. Did you get the automated reply on your ticket, at least?

You're on a legacy PayPal subscription, which does not support switching to a different renewal type any more.
Just let your current 90 days run out and then resubscribe via /premium_pick_plan?membership=premium.
I'll cancel the renewal on our end, if you don't mind.

Oh. Alright. Bleh. I'm going to assume you've already cancelled the renewal. Thanks shinryou!

And MakotoKamui, yeah I did get an automated response. I'm not really aware of the community, how many members or how many tickets are usually sent and I know there would be quite a backlog over the holidays but didn't think it would be this big/long. Wasn't complaining about it although I realise it may seem like I was!

You're better off with a new type PayPal subscription, as it gives you more control over the subscription.
I've disabled the automatic renewal for you.
