They are whiney bitches. If they are gonna kill themselves they need to just do it and get it over with not say they are going to do it all year long like a little faggot.

I got my friend to stop cutting himself by offering to slit his whole arm open and send him to the hospital. I got sick of him doing a half-assed job... Do not regret it, he stopped cutting himself afterwards.

H mm. We should definately try that on some masochists. But it would be a holocaust of casualties. Hmm.

Just doesn't work on every type of emo. If someone is genuinely suicidal they would take the bluff same as someone trying suicide by cop. I guess not all emos are the same, eh. /s (Its a stereotype !!:P)

When did I say I was bluffing?

a style of rock music resembling punk but having more complex arrangements and lyrics that deal with more emotional subjects.

My sister is EMO and she doesn't do any of the annoying crap or cutting crap either."

... is about the smartest thing I have seen on this thread.

Is that sarcasm?

Offering may or may not have been a bluff but cowboy antics don't work on the true believers, only the deeply conflicted. If you miss your threat assessment, they could die by your hand but you along with them. Gotta ask, do you want to take that chance to impress a girl or stroke your own ego? Not you personally but emos are people too and people are complicated fuckups with layers of intracacies, some mask it and are invisible, or think they are, but I haven't met a perfect machine that is a human organism to this day hombre.

Nope. That is someone being logical and using the proper term and my appreciation of it.

It went out of style, but the backlash did not.

So here's the full history of the Emo subculture and how it came to be if you want to read it.

Otherwise, I think it was mainly trying to name a deviation from the traditional viewpoint of punk. Plus most punks just really thought they were immature and honestly, it's how we got to the dreaded point of were Emos and scene kids sort became more associated with each other as subcultures than anything. It's sort of like how Johnny Rotten (John Lyndon; lead singer of the Sex Pistols) hates Green Day. Because unlike punks both scene kids and emos were conforming to a certain subsetting for the whole thing. I mean if you have ever looked at pictures of these two subcultures you can see they are closer than anything.

In my opinion as an ex-scene kid (which I hate admitting that I was ever once one) I quite honestly looking back on the whole subculture of both scene and emo as a whole I honestly think it was just a really stupid grab for attention and attempt to be cool and unique for some. Some great bands came out of these subcultures like Beartooth ( The lead singer was also part of Attack Attack), Falling in Reverse, Devil Wears Prada, My Chemical Romance, etc. Because those bands had gained the following and support of these two subcultures. Though this also gave people like me some cringeworthy memories and awful bands like Blood on the Dance Floor, Brokencyde, Dot Dot Curve :), etc. This just my opinion tho.

I know just thought I'd contribute something from the viewpoint of someone who knew a lot of people in the emo subculture and was a scene kid.

so emos aren't a thing now?

I didn't like them back then because they weren't nice to people.

BRINGING BACK THE STUFF FROM 2000s! Daria! <-- teens don't really do this ever.

And then there was Beevis and Butthead :D

omg why were teens so old back then. They were like so mature irl and not the teens today who are more like not like that and more friendly.

Amazing how South Park survived till today. It was in back then it's still in now.
