Does "Spending what constitutes as a small fortune on artwork used in the making of anime and manga" count, OP?

I love anime and manga. And I'm a woman. I also know what seme and uke mean, but, honestly, it doesn't matter to me if you like yaoi or not. But buying plushie, dakimakura and other promotional merchandise doesn't interest me. Buying the actual drawings used to make what I love does hold my interest.

I think each one of us has their own idea as to what constitutes a serious anime fan. Some people feel that means owning hundreds of manga and OOP anime. Others feel that owning hundreds of figurines and nendoroids is hardcore. There are a lot of women who do enjoy anime and manga out there, OP, so, keep your head up.

I get what you mean and I have met women who are into Anime, but not to the degree of what I mean.

Why are these the requirements for a woman to be "into" anime? I don't get it, lmao.

I wouldn't call those requirements. lol

But I can say that having varied taste for even just a friend is a personal plus in my book. Not a deal breaker mind you, just another part of a person's character I can certainly appreciate.

You can be certain that there are, even if you haven't come across them in your own life yet. Lets face it, it's a fairly niche genre and you are talking about an extreme so you really aren't going to come across someone like that in daily life.I sure you could probably google something to find women who meet your criteria.

I'm curious why you feel these women should have made themselves known to you though? Maybe they are just too busy watching anime to hang out with you or read the forums :D

Okay, I know the title is very controversial, so i'll probably get a lot of shit. Despite that, I will try my best to keep it as nice as possible.

Over the years, I have never met a woman who was into Anime as much as I am. Even when I went to Anime conventions, the women I got to know were only into mainstream Anime everybody knows about (DBZ, Fairy Tail, etc.) Now, I am aware of circumstances such as not knowing the right people, and the fact that there are women who are major Otakus/Weeaboos. Even so, due to my experience so far, I have not met a woman who was majorly into Anime and again, part of this is my fault.

So, my question is: Are there any women here who are big into Anime?

Now, what you consider "Being big into Anime" varies and is another topic for another day, but for this thread, here are some requirements:

- At least over 100+ Anime on their list
- Knowing terms such as "Seme" and "Uke"
- Knowing the tropes and cliches in Anime as well.

GO!

They exist, but they're so well hidden among muffin trays that you can't tell them apart from the edible muffin tops.

That also being said, looking closer at your requirements, 100+ anime seems pushing it a bit. lol

Not every female anime fan is a fujoshi.

Is.... is this a serious question?

Obviously there is, but like a typical woman is going to admit she knows the terms "seme" and "uke." Woman who are big into anime exist on this forum, they exist on tumblr, they're on twitter, they exist on AO3, or on fanfiction.net. I noticed that women tend to go to place that's dominated by other women, probably to avoid men. Hell, I'd do it too.

I know right? Lmao like what is this a competition? I'm thankful if a friend of mine has even seen one anime that I could talk to them about. There shouldn't be requirements about whether or not you like anime enough to everyone's liking's, you either enjoy it or you don't. This is dumb.

I don't think most anime women IRL is going to admit how big crazy and obsessed they are with anime. Also probably wont admit that they are a fujoshi either, since its frowned upon and considered unattractive (especially in japan). While they won't admit it or just say "they know a few main stream titles", I guarantee you their shrine at home is bigger than yours.

I love anime and manga. I've watched over 235 series and have read over 364 manga series (includes what I'm currently reading/watching and what I've completed). I am also a fujoshi and love yaoi. I'm very open about my interests in yaoi because it's a part of who I am. I've read over 248 yaoi/shounen ai manga and personally own over a 1000 volumes of manga (over a 1000 volumes are in Japanese and a hundred or so in English).

If I were to list some of my favourite anime and manga series, there would be "mainstream" series like Hunter x Hunter, Naruto and Bleach, but I genuinely enjoy these series not because they're "mainstream". Yes, I have also started reading Dragon Ball, but that is an anime that I grew up with as a primary school student before I knew it was even called anime.

There are also hundreds of other anime and manga series that I love just as much or more, such as Tokyo Ghoul/Tokyo Ghoul:re, Haikyuu!!, D.Gray-man, Donten ni Warau, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Bakuman, Death Note, Elfen Lied, Hourou Musuko, Fruits Basket, Kuroshitsuji, Yowamushi Pedal, Hirunaka no Ryuusei. So I believe I have read and watched a wide variety of series but most are from the shounen demographic or are either yaoi/shounen ai...

Here is my MyAnimeList account if you're interested in what I've read/watched http://myanimelist.net/profile/fujoshijessica

If you go on tumblr, pretty much every anime blog (that I follow at least) is run by a woman who is VERY into anime. I'm actually surprised you have trouble finding them. And like everyone else is saying, 100+ shows is kinda harsh lol I've been watching anime for almost 10 years and i barely have over 250... there can be new anime fans are just as "into" anime as you~

also there are plenty of female anime lovers who aren't into yaoi (((me)))
