If mean rude as sarcastic then yeah you can be friends. I'm sarcastic and I have friends ... wait, I don't.

It depends how that rudeness is expressed, and how difficult it would be to deal with. If it's amusing, and not going crazily over the top, then sure.

i tolerate it to an extent; if it's constant then i'll get pissed off and show my discontent.

I should've specified a little bit. They're a little brutal honesty "rude" and then partially a douchebag

Rude, no. Rudeness implies that they are deliberately doing something to annoy you and generally speaking I don't waste my time attempting to get friendly with someone who is annoying me on purpose.

I wouldn't say I'm rude. But I am sarcastic and really blunt, but I don't personally see that as a bad thing.

Yep. Rude is alright, annoying is a separate issue.

I've had friendships when I was younger where almost the entirety of our interaction consisted of insulting each other at every opportunity in as humorous a manner possible. So I suppose that's a "yes".

Or maybe they were people I hated but was too lazy to punch in the mouth.. Deep thoughts.

Yeah I'm fine with it as long as they're open to criticism and know when to shut up or move on.

People tell me I come across as a smart ass or condescending. Sometimes it's unintentional and I'm just trying to reason with someone or share advice. I don't mind being called on it either. If you don't push people, sometimes you never understand them. I try not to be mean to nice people. And some people won't be sensible without a bit of blunt force wording.

Intellectual confidence is often mistake as condescension. I've been told similar.

Not there are not rare times I'm intentionally condescending, but it's much more obvious and forward if I'm being so.
