Episode 1 thoughts

Definitely an improvement compared to the preview episode that aired awhile ago at least in terms of quality.

Episode 1

So this show is done in CG as this is by the same studio that did Arpeggio of Blue Steel. And so it begins with Azuma and Kaoruko as kids, and Kaoruko is determined to slay all the Burankis, but there's one under the house that's not like the rest. So the kids are sent away to Japan while the mother stays behind to do something only she can do. Now in the present, Azuma is a wanted man for being the son of a framed mass murderer as his mother is labeled a witch, and his band is out searching for that one Buranki to clear his mother's name. The first half was pretty informative, but the second half it went straight to the action without further elaborating on the setup much. The action looks pretty nice, and at least the CG doesn't look as ugly as it usually does. Interesting start this show has gotten off to, and I'll keep watching it for the time being.

I still insist that BBK is Bury the Burger King. So I might just call this show that.

Well, that was awesome. Wasn't expecting much from this, but it's my favorite new show this season so far.
Was not expecting rogue mechs when I read the synopsis. That's some Nausicaa meets Terminator stuff going on.

Like the world they have. The characters are all interesting. The powers look fun.
Plus Migi shows up. XD Translator should have had it as Migi-chan instead of Righty-chan.

Episode 1

2nd most promising start this season after Boku dake ga Inai Machi.

This has potential, hopefully this being 1 cour won't be too much of a hindrance for the series.

I can't immagine a worse combination than meccha + cgi, but this was actually really good.

Episode 1: The Witch's Son

This, yes, This was great. I was hyped up from the PV's and knowing nothing about the series and judging it solely on tat, this was really good and I enjoyed it.

The CG animation is actually pretty legit! It fit the series very well. The action was great, the backstory was executed really well. (Where'd his sister and dad go?) But wow it just works

I think my favorite is the badass sniper girl who likes to eat grass. She seems fun. But those are just my initial impressions and best girl can change. But she was fun.

I'm actually excited for the next episode. Hopefully it can stay up on this level and continue on to stay great and not disappoint.

I haven't been impressed by CGI anime in the past but this actually looked pretty good. Not my top of the season so far by any means but I'll definitely be back for the next episode.

I liked it. I thought the CG was fine. The art was striking and the music even more so. There was lots of action but the story was really pretty generic and the dialog was not good at all. I was surprised this was an anime original because it kind of seemed like the setup to a game.

Will have to see where it goes from here.

Guess I'm one of those that find this anime "meh" not sure. The CGI seems to make me cringe at some points. Action is alright. Story, somehow I feel lost at it.

It was a bit weird, but still interesting. Did some explaining, but still left me with some questions. Guess I'll keep watching and see how this turns out.

Not a fan of CG art, but at least it's done fairly well. The time-jump from kids to teens makes me worry they're going to fall into flashback mode to catch the audience up in the next couple of episodes, which I hate. Not really hooked, but not immediately bored. Worth a second episode at least.
