I got a Karen Senki vibe with those Campbell Soup Cans!

I think they threw too many elements together

Kogane gets killed next episode? And we'll see the protag's sister take her place?

Or perhaps protag's sister really is Reoko.

Or maybe none of these.

Episode 3

Something about the way Shusaku was looking at Kogane in her flashback makes me believe he didn't actually kill her father? We certainly heard a gunshot but that doesn't mean he did the deed. We never actually saw it happen.

Episode 4

Thanks to Entei's heart that Matobai holds, the Bubukis are useless except for Kogane's. Thus, it's a one-on-one battle between Kogane and Matobai while everybody else leaves for the Buranki's nest. But Azuma is not leaving until he sees Kogane's battle through as he throws himself into harm's way to protect Kogane, and his friends use the train to back Matobai into a corner where he is forced to surrender in order to same himself. But while everybody is on the train, they are not in the clear as Souya attacks and Kinoa is doing battle with him. That's a nicely done battle there and certainly it goes to show that there are ways to influence the battle even though only those two bubukis can attack.

Episode 4

The rage continues~

The more I look at the flashbacks, the more I feel bad about Kogane now. The storytelling isn't impressive imo with a fair amount of predictable ideas. But still, it is entertaining enough. I expect another gimmicky fight next time although seems almost comical with that weird ending.

Episode 4

Oh, this episode was fuuuuunn!

Bubuki battles reminds of Yugioh duels in a way or if you have ever seen the cartoon, Xiaolin Showdown, the mechanics are a bit similar to that as well. The CG is still awkward to me, but that's just my personal taste. The battles are fun though and the backstory aren't bad at all!

I'm liking this series as it goes along, so i'm down for the ride! Oh, and here's the face of RAGE!!!

This show is just continually hovering in the vicinity of being decent and that's about it. It's not bad enough to drop (or not terrible enough at times to actually be funny like Phantasy Star Online 2), but it's also not good enough to be worth caring about or getting excited about. And I'm still finding the setting from the first episode, including the mother, way more interesting than anything that's come after it.

Episode 4: Right Hand and Gun

This was actually a good episode. It provided information on what Bubuki battles are and how they are conducted. But through this the following episodes are going to be a little predictable with probably a battle each episode.

It also gave some good development to Kogane and fleshed out her past more. The Entei and Oubu peeps must have a long history with each other. Wonder why the Oubu people gave all their Bubukis to their children.

Probably going to find out more about Kinoa and the bald headed dude next episode and their past. Also, not all of the Oubu people are going to win so I wonder if she is going to lose next episode and render her Bubuki unusable.

This has pretty great so far, I am looking forward to more, and that OP is really great.

I get the distinct impression that this series is going consist of a different part of the body battling it out each week

Me too. The look and feel was entirely different, and I really liked it.

I think that difference is to give a strong sense of past and present and essentially different worlds. But it makes me enjoy the current vibe and setting less, and as it now is pretty clear that it's primarily a battle of the week structure, and I don't find any of what there is of character or story very appealing, I'm dropping it.

This show is just mediocre. The first episode was quite good but has been just okay since. I'm still wondering about his sister.
