And let's Komugication to start this off. It just isn't the same with someone other than Halko Momoi singing, but it's pretty good.

Episode 1

That concert performance is all just a dream. Komugi is aiming to be an idol seeing that she's friends with one in Kokona. Then one day, she runs into this show's version of Mugimaru, Usa-P. That rabbit thingie is begging for Komugi to become the magical girl Tombo-E the tomboy magical girl seeing that he took out a bug so gruesome that it had to be pixelated. And then a camera monster is born transforming people at will. Thus, here comes Tombo-E to save the day and turn that film monster into a card. Well, that was pretty silly as I remember the original series for its uber-silliness as well. That was a cute way to start this.

And this episode features several references like Milky Holmes with Kokona's costume, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Yatterman, all while this show is a pretty obvious parody of Card Captor Sakura with the card capturing business.

That was more fun than it had any right to be. I really enjoyed that.

And remember folks, only death can cure evil!

There were definitely plenty of jokes about the conventions of magical girl shows, such as the embarrassing costumes and absurd pseudo scientific explanations for things. And there were the names for things....

On the other hand, I think the series is actually playing the magical girl concept seriously outside of the humor. It kinda makes sense, since the audience at 2:30 in the morning is probably not children, that they're sorta winking at the audience. Like, they know that this entire premise is dumb, but that neither Komugi or the audience really cares about it.

I actually found it a bit refreshing, since so many magical girl shows "for grown-ups" take themselves a little too seriously.

Initial Impressions!

Love it!

Now, this is a show made for me. I was wondering if there was going to be a lighthearted show for me to get behind this season, and it looks like this is it!

A charming, funny, and cute magical girl parody!

Very likely to be my AOTS, as it is most in line with my personal tastes.

10 / 10 , will watch again.

Episode 1: The Birth of the Magical Nurse

I probably enjoyed this more than I should have. I don't know why but I really did. Wasn't expecting to like it this much but with that being said I'm hooked.

Let's Komugication! That OP is pretty fun and the whole show just give a nice feel to it. I feel like they might be trying to parody Magical girls in a way but then again I don't think this show will take itself too seriously.

Those old people are great support for Komugi, they go out there way despite their age to be her idol groupies. And is that really a thing cause I remember in Million Doll they were like "Tiger, Fiber, Rider, Diver," And all the stuff that rhymes with that.

Anyways I like it, I like it a lot.

So finally watched it, that was pretty great. It has an amazing sense of fun that most adult-oriented magical girl type shows just can't manage.

I think Konoka had a bit too much for as an idol and magical girl

Soul Taker. The show is a head trip, but it has the greatest theme song of all time (IMO).
