#ConceitedThread

Honestly, it's hard to find people who actually fit the stereotype. You can see for yourself in the pictures thread.

Now before people judge me and say Im conceited and blah blah.... go away. Anyways point of this post is people definitely judge a book by its cover. No I'm not the "cliche"home all day everyday, wears baggy clothes and messy hair, and is a socially awkward type of nerd/otaku. I like makeup, and dressing up and looking cute. I party as much as other people my age and I have friends and go out and stuff. I even model and i think people assume I'm a "dumb pretty broad" which is so frustrating. So when I participate in a conversation about comic books and anime and etc people are like shocked and its the most annoying reaction.

Does anyone else have this problem? Do you feel like you don't fit into the stereotype of being a geek but you like what you like?

Are you sure you wanted other peoples opinions or did you just want to brag? I think you're average looking anyway. Nothing that would make me think 'oh my god, she's into anime?'.

And to answer this post in general, it's because a lot of people that are into anime are cringey as hell, making us all look bad.

I always like an attractive female cosplayer.

As for being a nerd or a geek, I think that's more of a personal thing. I do believe that knowing the source material is vital when it comes to cosplaying, but I don't go around questioning people like that at anime conventions. I also believe that everybody has the right to cosplay as whoever they want, regardless of skin-color and body mass.

^_^ People are indeed superficial however despite how you may look on the outside it doesn't really matter-within 5 minutes of knowing someone. (If you're someone who is an internal 'nerd' it's going to show in your expression)
Maybe it's just where I am from, however there are dozens of beautiful women that go to conventions/play video games in my state and most of them are also models in some outlet; what matters is that they're all super cute on the inside. <3

I'm faaar too unattractive to be considered an "attractive nerd," but yeah I don't really look the part either. Everyone at my school is nerdy though, no matter what they look like, so I could just be really insulated from this.

People judge books by their covers and it's not worth worrying about.
