"Complex" and "Predictable" really aren't two words that go together. Open up a big bag of skittles and a bag of M&M's and drop the two into a pile on the floor. There is no pattern, they simply fall where they fall.

There is no reason the two words can't go together. They just don't go really go together for coincidences. The structure of an iPhone is complex, but predictable, for instance. You wouldn't expect one to fall together from it's components, but one that has been put together by it's design will typically function in a predictable manner.

"Tell me, Why do you think people believe in god? Because they want to. It’s not easy living in an ugly, corrupt world. There is no certainty, nothing to hope for. People are lost, so they reach out. Don’t you get it? God didn’t create humans… No!, It’s humans who created god.

Humans have certainly created their own idea of god. Just as I have created my own image of Santa Claus, Barack Obama, Putin, Bieber, and Judar even though I've never encountered any of them. That doesn't mean they don't exist outside of my mind. Or that if they do, they could be significantly different. All you have to go on are your experiences and then make judgements accordingly.

There's nothing wrong with devotion unless you

Let the corrupted religious officials control you.
Use your holy book as a shield
Blindly follow
Chastise those who don't follow in your beliefs
etc.

It's because even if they are smart, some people need something to believe in to keep them going through life. Deep down they probably know religion is rubbish and there is no God. But the idea of absolutely nothing after death is just too terrifying for them to accept as reality.

Because religious folks are intellectually consistent?

Every derp derp atheist I know lacks a harem of hotties, millions of dollars in assets, and makes value judgments when by their own stated beliefs they are the pinnacle of evolution and thus should be the ones having the most chances at spreading their genes; when by their stated beliefs they are more intelligent than everyone else and thus should easily be able to out perform the stock market; and according to their own beliefs of biological determinism no one is responsible for anything.

Atheists are hypocrites, but more than that they tend to be the exact judgmental hypocrites that they believe the caricatures of religious people to be.

They're smart enough not to try.

Because religion justifies itself, and as long as you have faith (which is viewed to be a superior trait), then you never break out of the circle.

an analog clock is one of the most complex machines most people encounter in their daily lives, yet the phrase "like clockwork" is used to describe something that is extremely predictable.

I think you've spent a little too much time on the religious section of yahoo answers.

I think I am smart, but I know there are a lot of people smarter than me (smart as in intelligent).
Yet some of those smarter people still buy into this concept of religion, or practice a religion.
I'm not saying religious people are dumb so perhaps it is just fear of the unknown and unseeable that makes people think, 'OK, I'll believe, just in case."
But that's dumb. There's lots of evidence that shows religion grew out of people's ignorance and the attitude of what's the harm in believing in God? Well what's the harm in not believing?

There's an old saying:
"Question authority. But just be sure you know what to do when you look around long enough and the answer turns out to be 'yes'."

Just for a laugh, why don't you tell us how "smart" you are about religious concepts--
I've already got five of the fundamental mistakes you're about to make inside a sealed envelope, let's see how many of them I got right.
(Might want to look up that other saying about "The man who doesn't know, and thinks he knows, is a fool...")
