Man, this was awesome. I love the idea of having what's basically a Meiji-era samurai story in a futuristic setting and the animation and soundtrack both seem pretty good so far. This also seems like an anime that is very marketable to Americans, which I assume is why Funimation was quick to jump on it. I could definitely see this as a highlight of adult swim, much more than Tokyo Ghoul anyway. The first episode kind of suffers from first episode syndrome in that almost all it does is set up the world and characters, but it made me want to see more of both of those, so it works well. My only big criticism is the fan service. Jesus Christ did that get excessive. Hopefully, it will be toned down from here on. I'm excited to see where this goes, as it is one of very few actually good new shows this season so far.

I see you are new and a younger fan / but any fanservice was really tame. Have you watched Monster Musume . Prision School ( recent animes ) I started in the 1980's and there was morre fanservice in mire shows than even now I think. Try Burn Up Excess / Dirty Pair/ This is like A PG show .

I agree it's a PG show, but that doesn't make me like it any more or less. I know this is largely due to cultural diferences but having the camera linger on a little girl's (mostly) naked body just makes me uncomfortable. Whereas something like Prison School uses the fanservice as comedic material, this just feels creepy. I have seen all the Burn-Up shows for the record... they're pretty bad. Might try Dirty Pair if it's short though.

Dimension W EP 1 / Collector

First it is written -illustrated by Yuji Iwahara / his work on Darker Than Black was manga illustration only. I also get The Cowboy Bebop Spike / Samurai Champloo martial arts influcence ( Stoyboards) by Tensai Okamura author Of Darker than Black which must have hepled Yuji Iwahara to create his Dimension W.

I like the homage to Tesla a genius often overlooked or considered crazy like his coils, BTW some say he inventred the radio instead of Marconi

Wirelees Electrical Transmission

Nikola Tesla

This was the manga came to life only thing added color animation and sound.

I am very happy to see it done this way. I would like to know what Funimation did on the Prod CMT.

Another note a new publisher has taken over so there should be more material

Other anime Dimension W reminds me of (duos)

Dimension W / Kyoma Mabuchi / Mira Yurisaki

Solty REI / Roy Revant / Solty Rrevant

Expelled from Paradise / Angela Balzac / Dingo,

Episode 1

I actually really liked this. At first i thought it would be too science-fiction oriented, and don't get me wrong there is plenty of that, but it had a good balance of action along with it. The MC is a cool dude, but the robot is kind of annoying. Anyway, the episode flowed really well and it just established itself well while leaving room for even more developments to happen. It's by the author of Darker Than Black, a series that i really did not like, but we'll see as it goes on. Then again, i thought Darker Than Black was pretty alright in the beginning as well.

I like the OP. The ED isn't too bad either, but didn't really stand out.

I really like the premise of the show and definitely want to know more. Nice to see an older MC that seems like a BAMF right off the bat. The android/Doctors daughter reminds me of a cat with her robotic "tail" and "ears".

Episode 1

Favorite opening episode of the season so far for me! I really like the MC, love the setting, plot seems really cool, animation was good, the artstyle is good too, and I like the robot.

And the OP is awesome (the dance!), ED is good too.

Really enjoy this show already. For some reason I'm getting Expelled From Paradise vibes, and I love that movie.

Same. I also get a combination of that and an I-Robot vibe (the MCs are kind of similar with sticking to the past and are reluctant to the new technological change).

The anime followed the manga perfectly / it was great to see everything in color. So not to spoil but infro is on the way . Who wamts an infro dump right away.

The manga isn't finished though right? We may get an anime original end, which I don't think I'd be completely opposed to.

mmm

So far I like it.
Almost a cyborg human partnership , like in some titles in the past.
I like the art . It does have the Samurai Champloo feel to its art.

Somehow I keep thinking of another seiyuu would work better for the lead male character but I like Ono too
but I keep hearing veteran seiyuu Ishida san in a lot of anime right now. I just cant change the image of Ishida san becuase of what Sugita san and Nakamura said about him

Yeah. Getting an I-robot feel to it as well. Throw in the robot partner and having to recognize it as a sentient thing.
