Yup, first started taking lessons in middle school and for a while I couldn't type without looking... Then one day I realized I was typing without looking lol.
Of course, every once in a while I have to look down and make sure my fingers are in the right spot. Sometimes when I'm having trouble spelling I'll look down. Also, now that I'm thinking of typing without looking down I find myself needing to look down now XD.

The only downside to having to take typing classes is that they make you learn a certain way. To this day I still can't put a capital letter without using the caps button. I know it's easier to use the shift so you don't accidentally type out things in all caps but I can't break the training. I usually mess up more trying to change to the shift button so I just say screw it lol.

I learned to type in 5th grade, and I have had many years of practice. Last time I checked I could type 80 words a minute.

I used one of those "learn to type" programs as a child, I think at the time I was in some mandatory elementary computer skill class, which was commonplace in a private school environment back then, not sure if it's standardized now. It gave me instruction as to how to properly place my fingers, and which keys were where. nearing ten years later, it's stuck.

I really don't regret learning how to type properly, it's been one of my most versatile skills to date when it comes to papers and writing, I've always found it to be easier and less cluttered than handwriting- my penmanship is kind of crude, stylistically messy above all else (in an unintentional way), but i find it difficult to read after the fact in comparison to something I typed. Not to say I am the fastest typist nor that I don't make mistakes, but I'm decent at correcting them.

The problem is, if you are going to work a certain type of job, you really cannot get by just doing one finger touch typing, it won't suffice. A lot of people end up like that and it is not a good thing. They really should mandate some kind of proper typing class in public schools in addition to private schools during elementary age.... even if everyone uses their phones nowadays, it is a highly useful skill to be able to type properly on a traditional keyboard.

This is me typing without looking. I can type without looking, but I find that the occasional glance helps me keep my bearings. Otherwise, I backspace more often than I would like. I'm pretty good typing without looking... actually a lot better than I thought.

I still prefer the occasional glance. It helps me type MUCH faster. With the occasional glance, I type faster than most people who don't look at all, and I have a lot fewer mistakes.

So that was the entire message without looking. I can, it seems, and checked "sometimes." I felt that was the most honest answer, because, I can, but I really do not like to. *shrug*

Yes, but I'm always bound to make a typo sooner or later.

Do it all the time, it's only when I encounter words I don't usually spell I tend to glance down for a second to concentrate on the spelling for some reason. Guess the muscle memory sequence isn't engraved enough for lesser used words.
