That can be done already for PMs. Or... if you use the Chrome Browser a CR user here has coded an extension to do just this.

Of course, a person shouldn't have to resort to using a certain browser to do that. So I get that. Then again, I'm of the mindset that people in general should grow thicker skin or simply ignore shit.

I guess it works differently for everyone. I'd live either way.

Yeah, the add-on, let's just say I try to limit add-ons for a single forum for no reason other than they didn't add in what most forums already have.

Hell, there used to be an add-on that added a completely new layer to a page so you could comment on a post, picture or anything else and not get in trouble with the mods because it was a completely different page that only people that had the add on could see. I wonder what ever happened to that.

That's the way CR is. There are some rules for some users, completely different rules for other. There are users on here who can tell you to "go fuck yourself" and other insulting things but never get banned or warned. Then there are other users who simply write logical explanations of their argument and they get banned for the most ridiculous reasons. There's clear favouritism going on here. And I have no idea why but it sounds like the OP is one of those unlucky few that the mods really really don't like.

Even the sitemasters have biases, even if they're supposed to unbiased. Let's face things, that nothing here is entirely fair, some of us are on the 'bottom' of the totem pole and have a higher likelihood of getting banned. At one time, due to my arguments against this extremist chick (now deleted), I wasn't a favorite myself.

^Let's not forget about Call Out Culture when its conveniently omitted when its someone we don't like.

Sounds like OP is butthurt. I guess this is one of those times to take your own advice people and get over it...

Some of us know how to move on, I have nothing further to say than to suggest you move on.

It doesn't matter how notorious or unpopular I am , I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon, even if I'm banned.

I have no more contributions, this matter is resolved, be thankful we both weren't banned, I have nothing further to say.

You need to move on. Stop calling me a guy, if its ANY of your business. You got the same treatment because you were as guilty as I was. At least I can own up to it. Look, my opinion of you is less kind, but I'm too mature to be on your level.

I've went over george_z's head and made it clear to the lady in charge of the forums that there are MULTIPLE threads on Censorship circulating right now, one of which is my own. You should be ashamed of yourself , I've forgiven you. Really a 21 year old should be more mature about disputes and you would have handled this in PMs with other staff instead of embarrassing yourself and me further.

I've nothing more to say on the matter, do whatever it is your going to do, good day ~

Yeah, this is hard to judge without seeing more context. However...

If this is a first "offense" I can agree with telling them what isn't acceptable and to move on and possibly report the other if it crosses this line, and can appreciate that ultimately this was a warning and no one got banned. This ignore the other person's presence idea, doesn't appear to be a rule as much as a suggestion how to not get goaded into another "offense". A hard rule for two specific individuals (a forum restraining order that punishes both) sounds like a needlessly convoluted way to try to absolve their judgement.

I would suggest keeping any post interactions strictly rational(not emotional), and ignore/report this person at best discretion. Even if I'm wrong on that I believe you should be able to discuss the same ideas and just avoid quoting or calling out said persons specific "contributions".

The general discussion forum is not the place for this.

Well it hasn't been locked or moved while seeing direct mod presence. I believe OP's intentions were to ask for opinions on forum management, and advice on where he should go from here since he wasn't getting much feedback from the mod. I tried to frame my post accordingly.

First off, thank you and VZ for being the first two to make a relevant post, on my thread.

That's how it is in most communities online. I'll just reiterate. I think the mod was fair in giving both of us some sort of warning; I don't think it was fair that I was treated on the same level as the other individual.

Google is a lie! I draw all of these by hand and then scan them onto my PC where I add the text.

As the mod in question, I'll just say this.

The conversation you were having with the person in question, whom shall stay anonymous, was far from on-topic and even further from mature. On both sides. I arrived to one and a half page of off-topic bickering with no indication that either side was going to stop any time soon.
"They started it" isn't going to work in this situation, the thing you should have done here was report their first attack and let us handle it from there.
So yes, I deleted the whole thing and sent you both a warning to cut it out.

Not that it matters much, but I have had issues with getting things shut down for little reason, as well. I know I've dealt with you personally, and you're pretty reasonable.... but, I've also had entire threads deleted because people came in starting nonsense, I responded once or twice, then told them "have a nice night, I don't need this shut down because of your nonsense."

Now, I'm not going to report people, because it's pretty douche, in my opinion, but I also don't appreciate the ease with which it seems assholes can get threads shut down, by being assholes, simply because the mods have a wild hair.

Now, I may be looking at it wrong... but this is one of the reasons CR no longer has my money. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay a sub to a business when I can't even trust the forums to be moderated properly, and I may be in danger of a ban over something minor.

As I said, I've dealt with you, and you seem reasonable... but the reality is, you guys do what you want, and pretty much don't even have to worry about any consequences if you do things a bit unfairly. And I think that's shit.

I also DID post in suggestions about this.

And there IS a really easy solution to this:

Install a proper block. Drop you guys down from supreme overlords of the forums, to simply taking harassment reports regarding multiple accounts. Let the forums manage themselves. Done.

To begin, I know you feel strongly about this; I can see why because it's really annoying to feel powerless, but I'd prefer if you keep the discussion to a somewhat less hostile tone
I edited my OP a few times before submission so that it would still have the chance to become a discussion if any users saw value in one, so I'd like to keep the chance of it being locked to a minimum. Thank you.

That being said, the only other thing I have to say is that I've kind of liked the mods here so far. Way less intervention then I've seen on a few other forums. I'm pretty new here, so I haven't seen any other decisions that they may have made that I'd consider were made in poor taste, so Idk really. They don't seem that bad to me.

Now, I'm not disregarding what you've said; I agree with you on almost every premise, believe me, but once again I'd like to ask that you show a little less hostility.

It is. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
