Episode 5

Heh,, some of the new girls are odd.

Kairyo Gakuen is quite a powerhouse there. Mashiro also improved this episode in terms of skill so I'm glad to see that.

Episode 5

It's tournament time and everybody is all fired up. First up is Mashiro vs. Reiko and while Mashiro scored early, it was due to the element of surprise and once Reiko figured out that she's a speedster, it was all over. Next is Misaki vs. Rika, and Misaki's experience came in handy and she used stall tactics to win. Then it's Shion vs. Saki, who learned how to play in England with the daughter of a famous shoemaker coaching her, and he was no match for her. Then it's Asuka vs. Arika and she pulled off the air turn kick to turn the tide around. That was some nice game action there, and the opponents are an interesting bunch, especially Saki and Irina. Those are some nice results seeing that this is the first official match for this club.

Episode 5: Yeah, Keep Calm and Carry On

Nice episode today. Got the official matches going on this time around. Was kind of hoping someone would get injured and let Hinata be the replacement. Maybe one day.

Not too bad for their first match, Asuka scored more than 1 point so I am proud of her for that. Thought the other two would have at least lasted another round but RNG is a bitch.

Saki is crazy fast. Wonder if anyone could match her speed or keep up. Looking forward to another of her matches. Shindou vs. Tobisawa looks like its going to take up a good portion of next week's episode.

Anyways congrats. 2 for 4 isn't too bad for the first time. Excited for more.

Ep 5

Round 1 of the qualifiers begins and we get to see how the characters handle an official match. Mashiro never stood a chance against Reiko, but Misaki performed well and won her match.

Then Shion, the team captain, goes up against Saki from England. Those Avalon grav-shoes make her the one to watch. I want to see her go up against Asuka or Misaki.
.

Speaking of Asuka, she has been improving a lot, but her strongest attribute seems to be her unpredictability. Nobody knows what to expect from her. She's also got great instincts for the game. Happy to see her pulling off a win! The flying fish would be proud.

I have my full length review of this show in the review section as of episode 5, but I just want to come here to say how trashy this show is.... There are no redeeming factors to it in the slightest. Also, why yuri? How is it appropriate to what's going on in the show? They're really trying to get them BD sales up, aren't they...

Why oh why do all the girls have to be so damned adorable?

So far I truly like all the MCs and their friends, cohorts, etc.

I should hate this show, but I find myself smiling and laughing at every damned episode.

Plus I really like both the OP and ED a lot.

Give me more trash! if that's truly what people think of this series.

I really have no deep feelings for this series at all outside of it being silly and fun with really cute girls.. and I'm okay with that. I just hope the MC continues to stay in the background where he is now.

Episode 6

The qualifier tournament continues with Asuka winning her second match in overtime, but Misaki is up against the FC juggernaut Shindou in her next match, and she gets owned. At least Misaki made it close as she learned the air kick turn, but it was too little, too late. Asuka squares off against Shindo in round 3, and she quickly finds out just how amazing Shindou is when he gets serious. But Asuka has mastered the air kick turn to turn the tide around. However, she loses her headset and wears herself out leading to defeat all while Shindo can do those air kick turns as well. And thus, the true battle begins seeing that Asuka had lost.

I figured that these girls wouldn't make it far seeing that not only are they inexperienced, but also the true battle begins after losing, and it will be interesting to see what's in store, especially for Masaya as to why he quit FC.

Episode 6: Is That All You've Got?

Lots of action this week. With two matches against Shindou. Misaki's match was fairly one sided but she made her comeback too late, But Asuka's was the one to watch.

Shindou going all out, Asuka actually keeping it neck and neck. It was great. Asuka better learn some new moves besides Air kick turning though.

Misaki drama coming. I think the reason she was upset is probably because Shindou didn't go all out on her deducing the fact that he thinks Asuka is better than her. Upon seeing that, she became upset.

Next episode looks like we are going to see the match between Shindou and the fast girl with the sexy boots. Looking forward to it. True battle comes after losing so looking out for that.

Episode 6

Best episode so far imo.

Shinou's a real powerhouse. Too bad that Misaki and Asuka lost. BUT, Asuka put up a much better fight than I had expected.

I'm guessing Misaki feels either jealous, weak that she couldn't do what Asuka did, or something else. Maybe we'll even get flashbacks between her and Shindou next time. Saki is fighting next...and yeah, I'm just going to guess that Shindou is going to lose.

From what I'm aware Misaki's route in the novels is about her realising she has no chance of betting Shindou as she is now and may never be able to do so and Masaya helps her through that.
Everyone comes up against an opponent eventually that no matter how good they get seems to be a hard counter to their style of play.

The anime is apparently only loosely adapting the novels and several issues so far that were solved by Masaya in it have been done so by other characters in the anime (like Saki last episode) but might this mean they are going with some variation of a Misaki romance route?

Episode 6

Man, Shindou is a freakin' menace.

Seriously, nobody can't touch him right now; he's a monster. Looks like Misaki could have feelings of jealousy or frustration after seeing Asuka and Shindou's match. Props to Asuka for hanging in there!

By the way, this a VN, right? I'm curious, how does it play? Do you actually get to play the air battles or is it all dialogue and you choose which move to do? I wonder how it works..

Inui is getting her combat series debut next week. Can't wait! I'm just a sucker for the white hair, quiet types. AND she has green eyes. I love green eyes.

Shinou is a dickbag.

How Asuka could still be smiling at him is beyond me.

Misaki getting jealous a bit and second guessing herself?
