This anime had potential, but they've made me unable to take it seriously. My main problem is more often then not I'm able to predict exactly how a match will end before it even starts. The girls just lose too much to make me be able to actually believe they would actually have a chance based on how they've acted thus far in the series. If the anime had actually shown them win more before the tournament or actually expanded on Asuka's talent, but they've rushed things too much at this point. I doubt I'll watch anymore of this anime. Only reason I've watched this much is because I put it on and pretty much just let it stream continuously.

Ep 6

Oh, wow. Shindou really pulled out all the stops.

Awesome episode, I thought. First we get to see Misaki go up against Shindou and hold her own for the most part. She did well but it's clear that they are on two different levels.

The match between Shindou and Asuka was the interesting one though. He pulled off consecutive top-tier moves against her and Asuka was able to score several points using her signature air kick turn. Shindou then went all out and proved his dominance. Clearly he sees Asuka as a threat (much to Misaki's dismay)

Next time should be a cool match too. I'm liking this show more and more each week.

If Shindou had to pull all the cards on the table just to win the match then I feel sorry for this anime, mainly because now the story wont have dept to it. obviously now he has to become extremely better or someone else is completely better than he already is other wise for this guy to be the top player he sucks, the matches were so predictable is sad, the story is going through to quick. I can already feel it coming to an end,

Seems like the VN Reader's arent really sure that they will be following the VN's true route after the last few episodes. Thinking it might go for the Misaki route~

Well the VN did have late romantic development so we can only hope. And yes this basically starts the Misaki route.

Imagine that there's a boxing match where boxer A leaves himself open for a split second, and then boxer B shouts: "You're wide open! I'm going to hit you now!" Then boxer B pulls back his fist very slowly and theatrically and hits boxer A before he can close the opening and block boxer B's punch, or move out of the way.

That is what keeps happening in this show again and again, only it's even worse. The sense of time is completely messed up. For example, Kurashina does a successful air kick turn attack that would be excruciatingly slow in real life and thus would never work, the announcer and spectators make commentary, Kurashina does another very slow air kick turn attack, and her opponent still has not even reacted to the first attack. Kurashina does one more air kick turn attack, this time even more slowly than before, and only now does her opponent move out of the way. At the last moment. Whoever came up with these scenes has probably never done any sort of sports or even watched any.

Episode 7

After a bunch of matches, it's now down to Shindou and Saki in the finals. As it turns out, Saki got into FC thanks to Aoi, and she plays a ruthless style modeled after her as she's a whole lot more than just speed. That was quite an intense match. While most of the players took losing well, Misaki took it really hard, and now she's quitting FC altogether. That was depressing to see Misaki in such a sad state and while everybody has the fall tournament on their minds, not having Misaki around really stings. And thus, the true battle is underway.

I can understand Misaki. She gave it her all against Shindou and he beat her without even trying. Then along comes Saki who stomps Shindou with a tactic that Asuka, someone who only started FC a few months prior, was able to figure out that she couldn't. She was made aware of her short comings in a really abrupt way and it has completely shaken her self confidence and enjoyment of FC.

Wonder how they sort this out cause we all know they'll get her back playing again.

Episode 7: Sting Before You're Stung

Great episode. The match between Inui and Shindou was good, seeing two powerhouses go at it. Also introducing a new concept to FC by winning not through tactics but through mind games.

Poor Misaki, she needs to learn how to take defeat as a lesson to grow rather than taking it negatively. Her mindset isn't right at the the moment but I believe she'll bounce back.

Glad to know there is another tournament on the way. This one should settle it. Really hoping to get some back story on either Masaya or Sensei considering that they were both powerhouses in their time.

Looking forward to the next one.

Episode 7

Felt bad for Misaki this episode. Understandable considering the circumstances of her loss.

Saki's so OP. That "upset win" (yes I put into quotation marks) didn't entirely surprise me. It just seems like there's some mysterious vibe about her and that I have a feeling she'd win.

Episode 7

I was hoping the plot wouldn't take this kind of route, expanding on Misaki's pride and inability to take her specific loss. I know she was talented from the beginning or at least handled the basics with ease, but I don't know why she'd underestimate an already known to be great player like Shindou, especially since he was the one thought to win the tournament. It could just be inconsistencies with the sport or just how the plot was meant to be executed, but it kinda rubs me the wrong way for an athlete with little experience to think she can win against someone who has a dream for the sport and has probably worked way harder.

I do understand however, the annoyance of Shindou holding back against her, but not Asuka. That I will accept. The thing about Misaki not understanding Asuka's excitement for the match that Shindou lost in is a bit beyond me. If she wants to play a sport, she needs a better mindset.

The 2 matches from episode 6 were way more competitive than this episode, so I'm a little disappointed, but someone has gotta take the fall in order for this "counter play style" to be introduced. I guess Asuka's gotta be the one to counter this new play style, or maybe she'll stick to just enjoying the sport and naturally come on top. Well I can see Shindou coming back to win too. Oh and there could be a chance that Masaya will start playing again too, but anyway, I hope Misaki decides to return to the team next episode with some fighting spirit!

While the anime is only following the VN loosely (removing the romance altogether up to this point, rearranging some events and giving most of Masaya's roles with the girls to other characters etc) it still seems to be going down the basic outline of the Misaki route as of this episode.

This is a spoiler regarding Misaki so unless you want to know how it goes down in the VNs don't click on it.

Yeah, I read about that. Kinda glad they left out the ecchi stuff haha

If you put a spoiler tag in front of me, I'll click it even if I don't want to lol

I didn't expect that, but now that I know, I suppose that outcome makes sense.
