What do you think the future would hold for anime fans? Are you expected minor changes or something big?

I personally believe that the anime industry is going go upwards because now we are starting to have anime being by fans through Kick-Starter and other platforms. We are also starting to get more indie manga/webtoons. I think this will give us more original anime with original stories.

i just hope there's major changes so that animators are no longer paid in pennies.
but the likelihood of something major like this happening is pretty small :L

some people would claim 4K anime would be the next thing, but that's extremely unlikely, considering the costs of making an anime in 4K
(and most series are not even made in 1080p anyways)

As long as people pay for stuff it should pick up again. Everyone's apparently so tired of all the fan-service, but no one wants to pay for the shows that they want to watch.

I think we're going to see some changes in the future.
Right now, a lot of studios are already outsourcing animation work to cheaper countries like China, South-Korea and the Philippines so the chance of seeing Japanese animators making more money is going to be unlikely.

I also think we'll be seeing messages of major animation and manga companies going bankrupt too, both in and outside of Japan.

As for Anime and Manga itself?
That's here to stay, where one giant falls another stands up to take its place and as long as there's demand there will be a market.
My hope is that the future is going to look at quality a bit more, instead of speed and quantity. Even if we fans may be asked to pay a little more.

And another hope of me is more globalization...

I think that the studios in Japan that don't finish stuff are going to finally cause animation to move from Japan to somewhere else.

It's going to be just fine

I don't know. ive just got back into anime so from what ive seen I don't like what I see. only because a good fair amount of anime that comes out sucks. but for me the anime that I picked and what got me on Crunchyroll was Food Wars. and seeing shows like Himouto Umaru chan gives me hope that oddball humor could make way for more interesting shows. I mean we only get whats available, and as far as Crunchyroll they might want to take into consideration the more mature fan

And with electronic distribution channels giving easy global access, I expect continued growth in something that would otherwise be a niche market.

Well it would help to have my favorite animes available in my area for instance.now if i wanted to buy dvd's for intance i would have to go without eating for next two months or so. So yeah...make it more affordable then i would.

It's only going up from here, it's a booming industry. Once we find common ground with the rest of the world anime will be unstoppable.

It's undeniable that anime is starting to get more popular with non-Asian people. 20 years ago, the only anime that people seemed to be familiar with were the Studio Ghibli movies. And nobody I talked to in elementary school knew what Totoro was. Only the Asian kids did and, even then, not all of them knew since they grew up here in the states.

Now, anime stuff is everywhere. Internet has helped it spread a lot.

It'll be interesting to see what other anime is made in the future. It honestly feels pretty stale right now but gems come out once in a while as long as product is being made.
