I think they should. id feel a lot better. they could snag up better anime and run Funimation out of business. maybe they could start developing their own material. now that would transcend anybody else's desire to even want to start a streaming business

Provided they did the above I'd have no problem with a what three dollar hike in regular membership price. But if they fail to deliver on anything a price hike promises then I'd be out of here faster then a white boy in the NBA hall of fame.

A 50% increase? Why.

^ If it got more shows on the site, a $3 increase is nothing.

If they fixed several problems, sure:

Better customer support and/or better/multiple streaming options. I still can't watch CR on my desktop. What I recieved for my ticket was a virtual copy& paste of what I'd already read from the help/FAQ section.

Install a proper block. Drop mods, and let the forums manage themselves, other than a few instances of harassment via multiple accounts. I personally don't like my fate left up to the will of the mods, who don't really answer to anyone in almost any scenario, regardless of their actions.

Get better anime, old and new. When the anime is out there, and CR doesn't have the rights, but has rights to a bunch of other garbage, I just go watch my anime somewhere else. I don't just stick to CR.

There are reasons I canceled my sub after subscribing for a very long time. I wasn't even really missing the money, as it was deducted automatically every month.... I basically canceled on principle.

i don't have, nor plan on getting premium, so a price hike would not affect me.

Didn't CR just get bought out by Hulu for half a billion dollars?

I would be ok with it if they would be able to offer a better service, but that's a big IF!

They've already said that their investing in exclusive original content, in addition to announcing what a few of those are...

Also FUNimation have been around for much longer, so this gives them a edge over CR no matter how much cash they have. Since Asian companies in general (including anime studios) favor long term business relationships over short term once, therefore meaning they might not get more just 'cause they throw a bunch of $$$ at them

^This

I stopped subscribing when the number of shows I was interested in dropped. A few extra dollars would mean little if there was enough content to make it worthwhile for me.

There as been some large investments made, I could have swore Hulu bought into CR, but I guess I was wrong.

I did a quick check and saw that Hulu doesn't appear to have any ownership of Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll is owned by The Chernin Group and TV Tokyo Corporation.

It appears that Hulu has ownership of Funimation, though.

I agree, it does kind of suck when people don't respond to you, especially in regards to a complaint.. (/forumtopic-933521/mod-management#52699953)

As for me, I'm currently paying the premium+ subscription at $11.95, but thinking about dropping back to the regular premium next time my renewal comes up since I'm not taking advantage of the higher access right now. I'm okay with $10 (obviously, since I pay more right now), but at the same time, I don't think CR would be able to run Funi out of town. Funi has other business aspects like physical media, so they get priority on certain stream contracts, that makes it hard for a streaming-only site like CR to take them down.

Be really cool to see some CR-produced anime, though...
