I'm complete new to anime and I'm super overwhelmed by all of the options. I'm a male in my mid 20s, and I've only seen things like Space Dandy on adult swim. I grew up watching DBZ until about the age of 13-14, but completely fell out of the anime loop ever since then. Idk where to start. I need some suggestions. I love American style comics. I love medieval and futuristic scenarios. I've seen some Attack on Titan, and I thought it was pretty good... Not amazing, though.

What should I watch?!?! Please help!

I enjoy mysteries, sci-fi, dramas, and really dry comedies. I enjoy thrillers as well since they're generally mixed with mysteries. I enjoy a good adventure as well!

Thanks so much! I've heard a bit about Arame Ga Kill! I might give that a shot. I'll write down all of the lists you guys give me. It'll definitely help me.

try watching The Berserk Movies? It's a badass medieval show that has a lot to it. It has 3 movies out right now (or you can watch the old anime) but this year new content is coming out.

Since you may not know which genre you like try out a few of these if you want.
Death Note - About a guy who gets a book that can kill people, gets pretty crazy.

Samurai Champloo - has a little American art mixed in. It's a pretty good show about samurais in this modern feeling style with an adventure between a girl, and two unique samurai.

One Piece - I'll throw this out there because it's my favorite. It's a show about a pirate who wants to become the pirate king and starts up a crew and goes on an adventure looking for a huge treasure called the "One Piece". It's really long and may seem childish at first but the plot always builds up to some and that is why it's length makes it great. It's also similar to dragon ball Z, as it was inspired by it. It just has more in depth plot and over arching threats/ideas. Unlike DBZs fist fury.

Steins Gate - It's about this man who invents a time machine and things get pretty interesting.
I don't really feel like writing in depth plots so you will have to go from there. Psychological thriller with a little bit of science mixed in.
One Punch Man - Parody on shows like Dragon Ball Z, it's very new and it's fun and has awesome action sequences. It's only 12 episodes also.
