Is anime a cancer of the mind?

we all know the people that take anime too far. with all that kawaii bullshit and whatever the hell Love Live is, is anime ruining our minds? I mean we watch Japanese characters, who look like powder skin white kids, self doubt themselves. constantly tease their body parts, mainly the girls. and the subtitles, the goddamn subtitles. I purposely don't use a character avatar because I cant stand to look at everybody else's. this thread isn't taking shots at weeaboos, even though I don't know what they are, but I'm just pointing out we all need to get our head checked. now go home and worship (insert Japanese voice actor)

I think it can ruin you if you chose it to. Everything is good to have in moderation.

I don't get the Love life fandom thing myself, but anime is simply a medium of entertainment. It is too broad an area to generalize with a statement like that. Some anime is really really weird, but a lot of it is funny, entertaining, intellectually challenging.. etc.

heres the worship

All hail Lelouch.. err Johnny Yong Bosch(one of the few english VAs I really like)

Methinks OP is taking this a little too seriously. It's just another form of entertainment.

The important part is knowing the difference between fiction and reality. God forbid we turn into otakus who take their waifu hug-pillows on dinner dates.

Uhm, but then you could say any kind of sport or hobby people obsess about could be a cancer of the mind with the reason you have currently.

Hi.

Two time cancer survivor here. Cancer buddy with my grandpa, we were in chemo at similar times before he died.

Some may say I'm abusing my authority by closing this. But I'm closing it.
