Why do you even need a group for atheism? It's like.. having a group for people that go to the bathroom. I'm atheist and even I think this is silly and pointless. And dating sites? I can only think of two that are based on religion, and one is for Judaism. And then countless for.. anyone..

I don't think that has anything to do with US citizens. I'm atheist and just thinks a groups for Anime Athiests is ridiculous and kind of dumb I would think the same about a group for only Christian Anime fans.

I never said it wasn't pointless or was (I really don't care either way tbh). What I don't agree with is how the CR community responded in the first few posts. Very immature and very childlike.

@Ruby Also, having a group for atheism can be rather nice, as in most places around the world it is a major (and usually disliked) minority. Having people you can talk with this kind of stuff can be nice every now and then. Also, google Christian dating sites. I found about 30! I have heard of 9 of them myself.

@Kerst: The US in many surveys has stated that Atheists are the most hated group in America. While it is getting better, it is slow work. I would like to see it reach the level of gay acceptance some day.

Going to the bathroom isn't something that people falsely base their life around like religion, or try to influence the way people behave, or effect governmental policies/laws like religion does.

The groups intended for like minded individuals to gather together and make friends, atheism is a big movement in the US, there's several campaigns right now such as the Openly Secular, and Out campaigns, funded by some great organizations such as the Freedom From Religion Foundation. & I want to be "out" and make friends with new people who are "out"

Anime is an awesome hobby of mine, and atheism is something i personally wear on my sleeve in order to potentially help others free themselves from the indoctrination of religion!

A great quote that motivates me to be out about it and meet and make friends with like minded people:

"We can help others understand that atheists come in all shapes, sizes, colors and personalities. We are labourers and professionals. We are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers and grandparents. We are human (we are primates) and we are good friends and good citizens. We are good people who have no need to cling to the supernatural."

It seems like some people treat atheism like it's it's own religion. Like they should have churches where they go and talk about how there is no god.

#1 you have meets where you discuss your non-religion

#2 Atheists already created a religion called "Church of the flying spagetti monster"

Now if I could be free of the indoctrination of Atheists the world would be a grand place.

Doesn't that contradict anime?

They love brining up the true lord and savior, the Flying Spaghetti Monster. That or the Invisible Pink Unicorn. I am actually an ordained minister of the Pastafarian Church. I have yet to meet one who actually thinks the FSM or IPU are real though. I have been asked why I seriously believe the FSM is real though. I nearly died from laughing.

I am just happy my $20 to become ordained went to a good charity. Now I can marry my friends haha. I think they are serious about that...

Edit: Read the post above me.

I can promise you, he is joking. I would say I am devout to a Christian as well. Generally it is fun to fuck with them that way.

Edit: The Bible of the FSM itself states that the FSM exists not. As well as our Prophet. Our Prophet states that the FSM is fake as well.

The child is just following the Gospel of the FSM. He has been touched by the noodly appendage of the FSM and knows it to be false, as all things are.

Some day, may you be touched by the noodly appendage of the FSM.

Atheism is not a religion, It's a personal relationship with reality.

I've never experienced "being hated for being an athiest." This really sounds like a made-up problem.

That sounds like something I would expect to hear coming from Japan... but I am also intrigued and made hungry by this statement. Tell me more.

I shall give you the prayer of my people.

Our Pasta, who “Arghh” in heaven, Swallowed be thy shame. Thy Midgit come. Thy Sauce be yum, On top some grated Parmesan. Give us this day our garlic bread. And give us our cutlasses, As we swashbuckle, splice the main-brace and cuss. And lead us into temptation, But deliver us some Pizza. For thine are Meatballs, and the beer, and the strippers, for ever and ever. R'amen.

Have you lived in the deep south yet? Try letting that out in school rofl. You will get jumped!

I can say that karma may actually exist though. The 3 bullies from my middle-high school are all in jail now. That makes me truly happy!

Doesn't that contradict anime?

Why would that contradict anime? We all are aware that anime isn't real but it is still enjoyable. I enjoy certain stories from the bible, find hinduism and Buddhism very interesting, yet I'm an athiest also! I have always liked mythological things and the like, I just don't take these story's as reality and as the ultimate truth. Being religious is perfectly fine as long as it isn't effecting laws and other people.
