I've never experienced "being hated for being an athiest." This really sounds like a made-up problem.

Have you lived in the deep south yet? Try letting that out in school rofl. You will get jumped!

I can say that karma may actually exist though. The 3 bullies from my middle-high school are all in jail now. That makes me truly happy!

I live in the deep south and while religion is heavy here I have never been jumped or hated for being atheist just lectured and people trying to convert I was hated for being feminine more than being athiest.

Plus from your posts it's sound like you missed the point of my earlier post.

The cool thing about atheism is we don't claim to have all the answers yet, we love to learn new information and try to improve with each new piece of evidence.

Far from being arrogant the scientific method is one of humility. It acknowledges the limits of our current knowledge. It doesn’t provide explanations or answers from a position of ignorance, but investigates the unknown in an attempt to reach understanding based on empirical evidence. Surely it is the superstitious or religious approach which claims to know the answers without any evidence except “faith” that is the arrogant approach.

There's an argument that religious people like to use called "god of the gaps" they claim that "god did it" for things science does not yet understand.

Do you think thunderstorms and tornados and hurricanes are the wrath of God unleashed upon the population for their indiscretions?
Probably not. You probably watch the weather channel and recognize that weather is the result of evaporation and turbulence.

A thousand years ago, people used to gather in churches and ask God why He has forsaken them and pray for forgiveness when bad weather threatens their homes and lives. We no longer do that, and you can thank science for that.

One by one, science is taking these things that used to be attributed to things we didn’t understand, and revealing them to be what they really are: the result of physical processes that we just weren’t previously ingenious enough to understand.

Scientists are most definitely not infallible. Very much the opposite. Scientists have made a lot of mistakes.

But you will not accept these arguments, because you accept only those arguments that have been drilled into you by your religious leaders. You have given up thinking for yourself and instead parrot the dogma that you are told, almost as if your religion has a handbook which tells you how to respond to all of these ideas, and you uphold your ideas as the absolute and immutable truth with no flexibility or possibility of ever being reversed through evidence.

I'm fine with not knowing everything, and i'm not arrogant enough to claim that i do; although, i'm happy not knowing, why can't you be happy too?

I don't think that has anything to do with US citizens. I'm atheist and just thinks a groups for Anime Athiests is ridiculous and kind of dumb I would think the same about a group for only Christian Anime fans.

You're joking, right? The U.S. is literally like 95% theistic with the majority (like 80%) being Christian. That 5% is atheistic. Or this is how it was a few years ago, but I cant imagine that its changed too much since I last saw the statistics.

What I have gotten from your earlier posts is that you are laughing at OP. Agree with Ruby this is stupid. That is your 3 posts in summary. You never really went in depth on much.

How deep south are we talking here? I am 1 hour north of the Mexican border in Texas. In a small town that has more Churches than fast food joints. Well I was. Not there now.

How are you missing the point when my post was so simple. I wasn't in anyway referring to statistics but to reply that the reason we laughed or people think this is a joke thread is because that their post made it seems like were bible thumping religious christians when I said I would have responded the same if it was a Christian Only Anime group.

Fucking Mississippi is how deep I am. Also I try not to go too far in detail about this is because I despise nothing more than to get into a fucking argument over religion which is why I left it short and straightforward.

You are right, though I can tell you the fastest growing religion related group that is a minority is Atheism.

Easy answer is God did it! Which God though, of course the one you believe in right? I have no problem saying I don't know. Talking about how the universe was formed will turn into a never ending conversation of I'm right your wrong. God has been used to explain things over thousands of years for things we never understood until we advanced with technology and scientific practices.

The answer to this is so easy.

We don't know. Either that or the big bang.

Back on topic, why the hell do we need a group for this?

I'm quickly growing tired of replying to this because I can see this is turning towards a religious argument quickly and I can waste my time on better things than argueing religion and religious statistics.

It's okay to believe in your own stuff, but please don't force it down on others.

It seems like some people treat atheism like it's it's own religion. Like they should have churches where they go and talk about how there is no god.

#2 Atheists already created a religion called "Church of the flying spagetti monster"

True, its actually called Pastafarianism.
