It really depends on what sense y'all think Manga is better than the Anime....If we are comparing Art and Story, then these ones are the ones that I think are better than the Anime

The Story of Saiunkoku
Sword Art Online
Akatsuki no Yona
Akagami no Shirayuki Hime
Pet Shop of Horrors
Owari no Seraph
Parasyte
Monster Musume

I enjoy anime more though because it is in color, there are voice actors/actresses I like, and I don't have to flip through any pages....

this thread should've been "which animes are better than the manga" because yeah, almost 100% of all mangas are better than the anime.

For one, Claymore's anime is incomplete. The manga goes on a decade past it. (irl time)

FLCL and Rahxephon's manags are horrible but the animes are good.
I also like Kuroko No Basket anime more, makes things feel more epic.

Bleh it was such a fanservicing travesty.

People who only watched the anime don't even know what the story was about.

All people watching the anime got to see was:

So true. xD

I could make a list, but it might break the forums.

I personally think most shonen-based manga to be superior to their anime equivalents, especially if the anime has many unnecessary filler episodes:

Naruto
One Piece
Bleach
Magi
Shokugeki no Soma
Eyeshield 21
Beelzebub

i dont know about that shokugeki no souma pick, the music in the anime really takes it to the next level.

I can only think of two off the top of my head and they are:

- Deadman Wonderland
- Elfen Lied

I agree that this is the more interesting question; probably deserves it's own thread. In the meantime:

-- Please Teacher, Please Twins, Vandread : in all three cases, the anime came before the manga... and it shows.
-- The Familiar of Zero: anime goes further, is more in-depth, and the art is better.
-- Yosuga no Sora: anime is more in-depth. (Also more raunchy...)
-- Full Metal Panic : the fight sequences in the manga are almost impossible to follow, where the animation is quite good. The downside is that the FMA: Sigma manga actually completes the story, where the anime never does.
-- Trigun : I loved the anime, but had trouble getting into the manga. I found the art style overly detailed and cluttered, and it was hard for me to follow the action.

Akame ga Kill -Mainly because the story is so much better after the split between the anime and manga and the repercussions are more brutal (especially what happens with Bols wife and kid.)

Rosario + Vampire -see all the reasons above

Freezing -the anime seriously tones down the violence, and actually makes Sattelizer's seem like she's controlling her issue a lot better than she actually is in the manga. For example during the fight with Miyabi (The limiter Eater) in S1 Yume and Elise don't stop the fight and it ends like this

Which makes the student council's reaction in the anime seem a bit overboard, but in the manga, it's still misguided, but a lot more understandable, considering Sattelizer came close to killing Myabi (Her pandora regeneration ability was triggered in time saving her)

I would definitely agree with Rosario + Vampire being on this list (such a waste). Other series that stand out are Toriko, Code:Breaker and Yumekui Merry due to poor story management leading to unsatisfying anime-only endings that still fail to resolve the main plot and as a result give no sense of closure to the viewer.

Trying to list manga that's better than the anime is like trying to list books that are better than the movies they were adapted into, too many to count. Far easier to go the opposite way.

This.

Because, like books, manga aren't restricted by a time limit.

Strangely, though, I've grown out of rating every series by "Yeah, but this isn't the manga/LN/VN".
