As a premium user, as long Canada gets the pretty much the same access as the US does, I'm fine and dandy with this. I mean, we're paying CR less in effective currency and still getting the same service? There's have to be a compromise somewhere, and I'm glad it's not us who pays who got the short end of the stick this time around.

Seriously, I've been effed over the ass with Sentai exclusively releasing some titles in Hulu now, so now there are shows that I now have no legal way of watching. A couple is also on anime network, but since I watch a good amount of shows in my PS3/PS4, I will be doing with them the same treatment as with Funimation: no subscription for me unless I can watch it in my big screen TV without the need of hooking up my PC.

So yeah, I personally am glad CR still works as is as a Canadian subscriber. Hell, I don't mind being charged more if they can get Sentai simulcasts back here.... because seriously, as a Canadian, Hulu can go #!%! themselves. So please CR, don't be like them at least. >_>

I'm just concerned for Canadian teens (12-17) that don't have jobs, they will 100 % go to piracy now. The average age of a user on the site will probably increase... for Canada anyway.

Why are people 15 let alone 17 years old without a job?

I think you are mistaken. In your Membership Status information, see where it says Billing Rate? Next to it, it should say "C$ 59.95 yearly", or reflect whatever subscription you're on. The "C$" stands for "Canadian Dollar". Atleast on my bank statement, it reflects that. Not to say its not possible to pay it in USD as a Canadian. But I dont know how you could have managed it with a Canadian billing address, and if you did you should stop.

Unh, maybe because I joined in 2008 but I am charged $59.95 US, not Canadian $. So I get hit with exchange rate. I don't appreciate being told I'm wrong when I know what I'm charged.

If you log out and go to http://www.crunchyroll.com/premium_comparison it says $6.95/month Canadian which X 12 is C$83.40
But some Canadian Premium members only pay $59.95CDN for a year???

Yes, some yearly Canadian subscribers do only pay $59.95 Canadian / year.

I'm not a happy camper at this. Thanks CR for making me, and others, anyone whose been doing a yearly subscription from earlier than 2012, pay in US$. $59.95US this past December cost me over $83 Canadian. As I've always been charged in US$ I'd never think that could be paying it in Canadian.

Hmm well since I was here day 1, I subscribed to premium since I like watching my anime in a big screen TV.

Pardon me but what are the Premium Canadian users losing because I see some premium members that are complaining.

That's weird. In my account settings it shows: Billing Rate: C$ 59.95 yearly. It might have to do with the fact that I had to cancel / resubscribe my membership very recently, since I'm pretty certain I was billed in US$ before.

You might not be a Canadian (I don't know) but we have laws that prevent anyone from working while under 16. That means they would need to lie on their resume and if the government finds out, the company has to pay $$$ because it's illegal. Which means only the 17-18YO are left.

Personally, I don't mind this change. CR is a business and they have to make money. It might not even be a decision directly made from any of CR employee but from their sponsors/investors.

Yeah I'm Premium+ and I pay 100 CAD. I probably SHOULD drop down to the regular member since I have no use for + privileges now that manga/drama are both included (CR doesn't go to Fan Expo and they only went to Anime North that one year so the convention perks are useless, free shipping is only given to US, I don't do contests, I don't go often in THIS forum, and I don't do beta access), but I'm still hoping CR gets Sentai simulcasts back. I know 40 CAD is not a whole lot, but it's something....

Well that, and I'm still hoping that CR catalogs Cross Game. I'm saving my rewatch of it in the slim chance that it gets a legal stream here.

I apologize; you're right. I started with a premium subscription in 2012, so you are probably correct that its a issue of join-date. But, when I look at the plans available to me (in the Membership Status section), it lets me choose between one month (C$6.95), 3 month (C$19.95), and 1 year (C$59.95) plans. Are you only given a 1 month option? If so, I should be reluctant to break my renew-subscription chain (lest it disappear)... If not, you may be able to change your plan to a C$ one if you want.

When I cancelled / resubcribed last month, I only got the option you just posted (6.95 CDN$/month) when subscribing. However once it was done, I just went into the Premium Membership Status and selected the 59.95 CDN$ / year from the "Change Plan" list box.

It might be a good idea to contact customer service.

I thought the entire Premium+ was for the drama+anime subscription, back when those two were separate. Where there other privileges? Currently, in the plans available to me atleast, Premium+ isn't there at all.

EDIT: I've been made aware that Premium+ is still there (http://www.crunchyroll.com/premium_comparison). But I guess its only available on monthly plans through that page? So odd.

I think we all need to take a deep breath. Yes voice your opinions, but at the same time I think we can all agree for the moment this isn't that bad. I'm slightly biased being a paid Canadian Subscriber, but I would like to see CR stay competitive with Funimation.

I prefer CR over Funi by far and its crappy that we lose out on some of the titles. So in short yes I'm willing to take some cuts, but should I be pressed too much farther I will end my subscription.

Yet again Canada gets shafted by American corporate greed.

Thanks Crunchyroll!!

It always confuses my why people complain when something free is taken away. The people over at CrunchyRoll provide a service, a service that costs them money, and they graciously provided it for free for many many years. They are still going to provide some of it, but now due to diminishing returns on what Ill assume is too small of a premium subscriber pool they are forced to reduce some of the FREE services.

Im certain that any kid can earn $10 a month. Anyone who has a passion for anime and wants to watch it can make $10 a month. Go wash 10 windows. Shovel a single driveway. Also in canada children as young as 13 can work with parental consent. Reduced hours for sure, but that is no excuse. And honestly if that's still to difficult than this service is not for you. I want to have a fancy car but i cannot afford one, If someone graciously let me use it for 5 years and then wanted it back unless I payed them to rent it, I would not complain, I would not insult those who had done good without requiring payment.

Support the companies that supply the goods you enjoy, if you don't they will cease to be. People have lost sight of the purpose of Capitalism, too quick are we to condemn companies for being bad businesses instead of looking upon ourselves as bad consumers.
