I'm basically asking what it would be like if Mobile Suit Gundam became ultra-violent, like Hellsing Ultimate, Elfen Lied, Blood-C, Mnemosyne, Shigurui and Berserk levels of violent (as in, being filled to the brim with brutal and gory violence).

probably would be more like Muv Luv Alternative spinoffs.. (total eclipse, schwarzesmarken) fairly violent but scenes vs the BETA are kinda sparse and more of a backdrop of the real conflict in these stories.

It'd be like the novelization of the same show.

@Marz311: Muv-Luv Alternative's got nothing in the gore department compared to something like Hellsing (manga and OVA), Elfen Lied, Gantz and Higurashi When They Cry

@rcsatcrunchyroll: how violent was the novelizations because I'm expecting an ultra-violent Gundam series to be as violent and gory as something like Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Shigurui and Gantz.

Not much else to say except that when people die in the books, they die hard. I recommend looking it up.

Gundam Thunderbolt was pretty damn violent to me during the battle scenes. Maybe not excessive gore, but it make me wince.

Are you referring to the novels from the 80's that Tomino wrote? Those books were pretty brutal...and not just for the violence.

That I am, and the English localization of the trilogy is helpfully available in a single volume, these days.

That would be quite an interesting show to say the least. Of course, it would be censored for TV broadcast seeing that it just would pass as is, but it would certainly add a lot of intensity seeing that pain and suffering are at the forefront of such show. Anyway, as long as it uses violence in the proper fashion that it would be something amazing, and violence at the level of Hellsing would be around the proper amount. But if it at Berserk's level of extreme violence, then it better have an unbelievable story, or otherwise it becomes unwatchable for that.

Then it will become transforming mangas like
Front mission:dogs days dog life -seinen/adult/mecha)
Or
Red eyes (seinen-adault- mecha)

İn one scene front mission pilot crush other pilot with his mecha palm

Not too much different. I mean, they are in a mobile suit. Lets be honest, when you have bullets 3 times the size of a person, and beam sabers that vaporize everything in the cockpit, there isn't much violence to watch before its covered up in mech parts. I mean, Iron blooded orphans has a crush death for at least every other death once they have Mobile suits, and they show the cockpit being crushed, but no one notices cause its over so fast.

You would only really notice a grittier gundam in a person vs person basis or mech vs person basis, but even the latter would be affected by the rate of total dispatch.

I guess what im saying is, You prob wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Gundam, especially the older series, can be quite violent. War in the Pocket had very clear moments of this. Stardust Memories also was quite a violent series as well. Heck, go back to Gundam WIng and a massive pool of blood forms under Hiro after he blows himself, and his Gundam, to Kingdom Come. It has, in the more recent versions been tuned down from about seven to more of a four or five in my humble opinion and should be turned up a little bit more to the level it was before. To go to the Elfen Lied level would be a turnoff to me. While I like Elfen Lied, for very very bizarre reasons, It is violence for the sake of violence. Violence in Gundam always meant something. War in the Pocket was meanto to break a child's delusions of what war was, and it did it perfectly. The original was meant to show the horrors of war, and it did so perfectly. Zeta was meant to show what a forced Peace can do, and it did so More Perfectly than the others. My point is the books are quite violent and I appreciate them for it. The series were much more so than they are now, in my opinion anyway, and should go back to that. What they should not do is go for violence for the sake of violence. To become more so would cause me to turn away from a franchise that I have loved sense early in my love of anime.
