Yes , I know CR abandoned support for Blu-ray players . But it is possible to watch shows thru the browser though . The downside is there are no subtitles ! Just watched RWBY today , since it's already in English ,no problem . However if you try any subtitled shows they stream fine , just no subtitles . Is there any way to get them to show up ? Wife won't let me get a Roku 4 (has optical out) and she doesn't like hearing the fans on the HTPC (old gaming pc) . Don't know jack about programming either ...

the easiest way would be connecting your pc to your TV using an hdmi cable. there will be noise coming from the laptop fan, but it shouldn't be that audible compared to the audio from the TV. i know, you wanted subs to show on your bluray, but there's little you can do if they dropped support for it.

PC is hooked to tv , she doesn't like the fan noise . Now if my nephew buys a trailer I have I can get a Roku 4 since it has optical out . Funny how Amazon Fire dropped it on their box .
