I'm considering Anime Studio Pro 11, given it's not over-the-top expensive and I looked up and think it's animation quality is decent, but given you anime enthusiasts probably know way more than me, I got a $500 budget, and I'm wondering if there's a better animation software to get at this price.

PS: the channel will be officially released when I finish the first episode, and I'll post on here when the first episode is up.

I've heard Toon Boom and TVPaint are good. I've used a semi-cheap version of Toon Boom for a bit, but most of my experience with animation is on paper.

Most of my 'Animations' are of paper then to PC, but before you start you should have a solid idea for you plot, because most people don't care about the visual quality as much as they care about the fact that their is a plot and/or something they relate to in your story.

if you are into 3d animation, you can use blender to make your anime series. It's free and there's alot of blender tutorials on creating anime projects.

Work towards a Wacom tablet instead of OTT animation software, at the end, you can put frames one-by-one into a cheap movie editor, but if it's good quality people will want more. So get drawing tools as well.
