Do You Find It Difficult To Rewatch An Anime Series?

This often a problem for me as I tend to have a very good memory for Movies/TV shows/Anime's and lots of other things. Where as a lot of friends I've known over the years will forget nearly all or some of the moments within particular series.

After watching some of my favourite Anime's over the last 6 years, I find it difficult to go back and re watch them- as I easily remember/anticipate whats going to happen next and it feels like a soulless/subtracted experience most times. Whereas I envy those that can easily forget and re-experience those moments again for a second time.

How well does your memory serve you?

Do you still get a fulfilling experience from re-watching an Anime series?

I'm curious to see how others fair with this matter!

Honestly, there are some anime i cannot re-watch, and most movies i cannot either.

For me there were a few exceptions, some of which i claim to be my favorite anime of all time, and some of the very best i'll re-watch after a year goes by or so.

Re-watchable anime for me top list:

1. Death note - i've re-watched this series over 5 times i believe, whether it's watching it with someone new to anime, or just for my own personal pleasure, i never get sick of this anime.

2. Code Geass - I've re-watched this i think around 3 times, it's such a great intellectual show, i always find something new about it i love each watch-through. One of the times, i was trying to get someone into anime and watched this series with them to get them started, and it worked!

3. Last, the other anime i watched through 4 times, is yu yu hakusho, i always loved this anime, it was the one that personally got me into anime, the character building is so great, and i just love the action in this series so much, all the characters are bad-ass, i'll never say no to re-watching this if the opportunity presents itself!!

TLDR aka conclusion;

-------------------------------

I only really like to re-watch super amazing exceptional anime series; whereas, with most anime i'd be bored to re-watch them honestly.

Thanks for posting this awesome question, it was really fun to think about~!

Like Reneker54 said, I'll really only re watch animes or movies that I love.

I'll re watch Fate Zero, I think I've re watched it like 4 times, and I'll still choke up and tear up at the exact same parts. That's when you know you're watching something amazing.

Same with Spice and Wolf. I'll always laugh, tear up, and smile at the same parts no matter how many times I re watch it.

Even Cross Ange, No Game no Life, Akame Ga Kill, DRRR, Maoyu, the pet girl of Sakurasou, and plenty more. it's not that you know what's going to happen, it's the moment that you relive that made you enjoy it in the first place.

Same goes with movies. I'll re watch V for vendetta 100 times and I will always feel like it was my first time watching it, because that movie is a masterpiece. Even if I know every word to the movie, it's almost as if I live by it. That goes for a lot of my favorite movies.

If you can't rewatch something, that simply means it wasn't perfect, and I do think of myself as a perfectionist. I guess that's why I can tolerate such things.

Hmm. I'm like everyone else. I pretty much only rewatch what I really like. I remember a lot of details, important or unimportant. I don't really rewatch for the experience as much as I rewatch for the nostalgia if that makes sense.

I find that shonen animes are impossible to rewatch, however series that have 12 or 24 episodes that were truly masterpieces I will watch multiple times. Cowboy Bebop, Steins Gate, and Samurai 7 come to mind.

When I used to get stoned I would watch a lot of shows or movies that had detailed or unique animation like Summer Wars, Ganketsuou, the one with the girls who go into the other realm and try to kill each other I think its name was Magi Puleka or something.

I actually haven't rewatched that many animes, which is weird because my memory is absolutely dreadful. I honestly tend to remember unimportant dialogue or punchlines if anything, instead of actual significant plot points. I'd probably rewatch a lot more anime that I've forgotten if my "to-watch list" wasn't so freaking long. When I do go back to see something again though, it's usually just an episode or two, and not the entire series.

If I am watching with someone else who has not seen it before I am able to enjoy their enjoyment of it, so I re-watch series in that way now and then. I can also re-watch some series with others in a group, the experience is different and more interactive. I have gone back and watched something for research, we play BESM now and then so I have pored through things to develop setting specific rules and systems. I never re-watch anything alone just to watch it, I would not enjoy it.

I can rewatch when I do it with friends.

Talk about rewatching anime, I am wondering about if you guys could help me with something.
I want to rewatch an old anime, is the first anime I ever watched, but I cant remember the name.

It was about a guys who had the ability to se "the lines" on people. If he cut those lines with a knife the person would die. there was also a vampire girl involved. A very sad anime. Ring any bells?!
