If it didn't nobody would get elected unless your vote never counted in the first place and the entire election is rigged.

Yeah the electoral college system kinda defeats the purpose. Didn't bush lose the majority of votes but only win due to the electoral sys?

No I would not be old enough yet

eh, someone let snogo make a thread? obviously the mods are asleep.

but nope it sure doesn't. because electoral college, like it was explained already & how many elections, state or national level, are down to 10 votes or less? nope your vote doesn't count, sorry :c

for the presidential elections in the USA? Why or why not?

This year, I couldn't get out on Super Tuesday to vote for Bernie, but came back to watch the state results anyway:
Clinton 51%, Sanders 49%. That's what one missed vote gets you.

(With the Bush Jr. elections, we were down to analyzing the last tied state ballots district by district, in Florida and Ohio respectively. Okay, let's see some registered voters who DIDN'T vote in '00 and '04, so we can blame them for an entire wasted decade, and car bombings that make us afraid to leave the country.
We could have had President Gore, and wiped out global warming, but nooooo, somebody was probably smugly patting himself on his back for all his anti-Clinton Monica jokes by sitting out the election...)

Yep. Only had a six-month term before his shooting, though. (Probably by a John Bull...)

My vote in national elections rarely matters.

In Illinois, Chicago and some other northern counties carry the state for the Democrats. Most of central/southern IL votes Republican though.

I typically vote Democrat, but my county always overwhelmingly votes Republican. So not only does my vote not matter in my county, my county's vote doesn't matter in the state. Sweet democracy!

Edit: Maps!

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

No because I don't live in a swing state and the primary came out so apparently my opinion really doesn't count for sh*t.
Yea James Garfield he was the 20th presedent.
