@sarteck

I understand that you support him because, despite being a jerk, you think he'd be a good leader. He is definitely a jerk, but unlike you, I have a hard time seeing him being a good leader. How can someone be a good leader of America if they absolutely piss off over half the population and don't give a single fuck about it?

In some ways, he could be a good leader, I think, but overall...I just see it going over poorly. If he becomes president, I think he'd get himself impeached before his first four years were up.

Edit: For some reason, emoticons won't show up...

Thanks, I'd appreciate we not resort to personal insults if at all possible.

Yes, I do have a huge bald spot, and I hate it.

Yes, I am at home. It's Sunday.

No, I have a job as a systems admin. I love my job.

I can't prove to you that he'd be a good leader. He doesn't have a track record in politics, and any "guarantee" from me would just be based off my own opinion.

I, unlike you, do not see him as a jerk at all, nor do I think that he "absolutely pisses off over half the population." That's just something we'll have to see come voting time, I guess.

Personally, I don't think he's some evil dude just waiting to send nukes to wherever, or that he's going to bring back slavery, or that he'll strip women's rights to vote, or whatever evil thing you're implying he's going to do.

I mean seriously just what is it you think Donald Trump is going to do that's so bad?

The thing is, he is such a loose cannon and wild card and I really fear that if he became president, it'd go over poorly and be a debacle. If he becomes president, maybe it won't be a disaster and things will go Ok. But I really fear that he'd be bad for the country. I don't want to gamble with the next president. I want a 'sane', typical candidate. Republican or democrat.

What do I think is so bad about him? Again, I see him as a loose cannon, his personality and how he conducts himself, I see it being an obstacle, an obstacle from his own self, when trying to lead this country, represent America, and conduct ourselves on the international stage. Does that make sense?

In addition, I think his way of dealing with issues will tend to be "haphazardly".

And I don't fault you for that.

I don't think it will be so bad as you fear, but that's your opinion and it's fine. I can respect that.

The only thing I have a problem with is people bringing up stuff like this quote about his voters' loyalty, and acting as if it's some huge problem. Then when I ask about it, all I get is "he's offensive," which has absolutely nothing to do with what he had said.

I, too, see in him "a loose cannon," somewhat. I don't see him as the "causing damage" part, but as "unpredictable." I don't think anyone would disagree with that, though.

I can plainly see that he has leadership abilities; he's run many businesses and organizations and had success with the majority of them. I do not think this automatically qualifies him to be a national leader by any means, but it's a good start.

I have a healthy respect for the positions he's taken on issues, and from what he's said, it's clear to me that he cares about the American people and our way of life.

As for your statement of how he deals with issues, I would challenge you to state which issues you think he's dealt with "haphazardly." He hasn't even been in office, so I'm curious as to where this will go.

I think he has shown he would operate haphazardly. Terrorist attack happens. So what does he say? "Yo, we gotta ban all Muslims from entering the country!". Immigration problem? "Yo, I'll have us build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and MAKE Mexico pay for it". Oh, okay. I guess diplomacy won't be a thing if you were president. Let's not consider the negative consequences of bullying Mexico to pay for that wall. Okay, yes, let's consider that for a moment. So we bully Mexico into paying for a wall, and...what can they do? Well, how about stop exporting produce to America. Not like we get a lot of produce from Mexico...oh shit, we do. Well at least we will kinda make up for it with produce from Californ-...oh shit, water crisis in California going on right now. Hmm.

See, from what I've seen so far, Trump would just be four years of reckless and rash decisions, rushing in, shooting first and asking questions later...or God forbid...God forbid...eight years of that.

1) What is "offensive" about it?

2) Again, please refrain from trolling. Try having civil, rational discourse, and maybe you'll be amazed at the results.

I don't know, everything Trump says seems to be a publicity stunt. He's either obsessed with attention or is trying to distract the public from something bigger.

From a morality standpoint he is terrible. From personal experience, morality doesn't feed me, pay me or defend me. Moral compasses are for the fortunate few who can afford them. Trump is saying screw morality, we deserve to be on top regardless of the means. A modern day Machiavelli and the kind of man we have few too many of.

Good leader? Maybe, but he is damn good at polarizing people.
Good negotiator? Better than anyone else on the field, and the only man who could probably negotiate with the real loose cannon, Vladimir Putin.

I am sure there are better options in the world, but none of them are running for president. So since voting is the only choice we have I will vote and vote for him.
