I’m disappointed with how difficult it is to find dubed series on this site. There are users that prefer a dub format. For example: reading subtitles for an extended amount of time gives me a headache, and it’s my own preference to be able to look away from the screen and keep up with what’s going on.

There are two major problems right now:

1: The dubed animes are not easy to find.

There needs to be some sort of a marker or search option to allow users to find these titles easily. The only way I found some was through a list presented in the FAQ, and I’m not even certain if that’s a complete list. There needs to be some way for users to express their desire for dubs. Maybe some account option for preference, or email out a survey.

2: The selection I found was rather limited.

The shows I found through the FAQ list are primarily shows I’ve already seen, or shows that I have no interest in. I personally have no desire to watch “Beyblade” anything. Sword Art Online is awesome, but I’ve recently just rewatched the series, and I want to watch something new. Couldn’t some of the shorter anime series be included? For example Gundam 08th MS Team is only about 13 episodes long. Even having some movies like Gundam Endless Waltz, or some of the Naruto or Bleach movies could be options. In order to show support for dubs there needs to be some options we want to watch, or the question needs to be presented to users directly.

It can’t be expected that users will show their support for dubs when they can’t even find the dubbed series. Similarly if the options aren’t something they want to watch then they won’t waste their time. I understand resources are limited, but if you want people to show support for dubs then they need to be able to show that support.

I literally just signed up on a free promo account and I’m already looking to cancel because of the lack of dubs. This waiting 24 hours until I can cancel is also really pissing me off. I don’t want to spend my time rewatching a couple series in hopes that one more view MIGHT mean that more dubs will come in the future.

CR is primarily focused on delivering simulcasts as close to the Japanese air date as possible. Several dubbed catalog shows have been added recently; check out the /lineup page.

I'm pleased to see progress, but there's still a need for an easier way to find dubs. Either a Dub category, or marking titles as "Dub" "Sub" "Sub/Dub".

the problem i had/seen was for example was Fate/Zero when they put both Sub and Dub into the same area so it looks like there is 51 episodes but in reality 25=26 sub and 25 dub, 1 extra being the Trailer

An idea how about on the main page if you have a show on Queue it would be on the same space under it Dub when highlighted

I agree with CloneSociety and Sangheili112.

I have several friends that prefer Dubs over Subs and the only method to find them is to open each title.

Perhaps add a check in the genre filter for Dubs. Or add a new header, Updated, Alphabetical, Dub.

While I and many people prefer subs, there are a lot of potential Crunchyroll fans that have reasons to want Dubs.

Thank you,

But that really doesn't address the issue.

The style of forum CR uses makes it almost impossible to find a post or thread even if you know it is there.
I just tried for 30 minutes to locate this post via the search function. In the end I had to use the link in notifications.

A casual user or better yet a new person just checking CR out would never find the list, or even know there was one.

Lack of a easy way to find dubs simply means that CR is missing out on a revenue stream.

Not an issue for me, but things with an easy fix bug me

Well, they did start working on a tag for it once, but when you visit it, you can plainly see they haven't kept it up...

/showtag?tag=english+dub+available&type=2

They even have two similar FAQ answers about it, I'm not sure what the difference is, but neither of these are fully populated/kept up, either..

https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/205203225-Do-you-have-shows-dubbed-in-ENGLISH-
https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/205180793-Do-you-have-shows-dubbed-in-English-

They need to put someone in full charge of tagging shows, or else open up (a pre-selected list of) tag choices for user-participation assignment. But that's a structural programming change to the site itself, and they haven't been doing any of that sort of enhancement for a long time now. In fact the opposite is true, more and more things that were user participation have been slowly removed.

Just like they don't have populated tags for every show, and hadn't been maintaining those correctly for years either; that's a part of the underlying problem here, and why I always just refer people to the mod-maintained (sticky) thread (found in main-/forum -> anime) instead of the tag.

It's kind of a moot point though. There are less than 100 dubs here, and most of those are only available in the US, which is probably why it's not an "official" genre. It isn't really their target audience. People looking for them would be better served by Funimation or even HiDive.

Also, you're not wrong when you say it is hard to search for posts here. That's something that seems to toggle back and forth between working and not, maybe by the phases of the moon, or even the seasons. Searching for your own posts, for example used to work with special syntax, then it stopped, then it worked a little just by searching your username, but that doesn't find everything. If I'm desperate enough, I just resort to using google and the "site:crunchyroll.com" pattern along with whatever other keywords you want.
