In my case: Madoka Magica. I was going through a lot of anxiety and as i watched this show it just got worse, however it is my favourite anime because of the impact it had on me.

I'd say Nana. That anime stressed me out at times because of the dumb decisions that were made. Near the end it really irritated me lol Still a huge fan of it though

I haven't felt "scared" at any anime, but as far as anxiety, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has a lot of tense moments because nobody is safe. You never know when a character might just gruesomely die (or in some cases, seem to die). Throughout the series, it's very good at that sort of shock, and it's very good at making enemies look dangerous by having them destroy people (or in some cases, dogs). It creates anxiety and tension in each battle by brutally demonstrating how the villains might kill or maim the heroes. For example...

Early Attack on Titan was good at that too, and I think it's a big reason why it became so popular.
Same with Game of Thrones. That feeling that anyone could die at any moment is awesome.

I agree. Madoka Magica was such a surprise to me and had a big impact. I felt the same way that you did.

Yamishibai. I would watch it when I was on lunch break at 1am at work. The office was dark, nobody there, and the building itself would creak and make strange noises.

Same exact situation with me. I remember binge watching the series in 2 days then the following night watching the 3rd movie and had work the next day. I couldn't sleep as I couldn't stop thinking about the damn ending lol and was in a serious funk/depression at work. I've actually had this happen with a few shows before, as I am the kinda person who really immerses into the story and gets invested into characters if that makes sense.

Yowamushi Pedal last year. There were a lot of tense moments in the races. The show also does a good job at making you feel the desperation and anxiousness of all the cyclists.
