Geiko-Chan, Sekko Boys and Teekyu etc are IDEAL as shorts as theyre so WTF from start to finish. It wouldnt work if your expected to sit through half hour bursts of say Teekyu as its not plot driven, just animated one liner after another.

CR doesnt get enough credit for licensing shorts though i do feel they should have own section on site. Meanwhile shorts eliminate mass manga needs for full seasons as it takes a lot of source material to do a full 12 (not least 24) half hour an episode season. Thats why some like "my wife is the student council president" took the short anime season approach.

At the very least, you would probably have a sensation of everyone around you appearing to talk very slowly, as your brain would have had time to adapt to the fast delivery.

I'm enjoying KZ and Yamishibai. I loved Encouragement of Climb.
Thank you, CR, for including the 'shorts'. I don't go for all of them but there are certainly some worth seeing.

Shows with short episodes are more popular than ever over in Japan. It just reflects the market share of 4-koma manga in the manga market. Not all of these work well as "full" episodes, as not all of the skits can be blown up to last 6-7 minutes each.

I use to not like shorts, but that all changed when I saw Funi's Bikini Warriors. Damn, what a parody of tropes from JRPGs and MMOs. Such a blast.

I like shorts myself. They're a nice breath of fresh air between my full length shows. And some things really don't need to be longer than a few minutes to tell a good story.
Just this season, I am watching and enjoying: Yamishibai 3, Galko-chan, Sekko Boys, Oji-san and Marshmallow, Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note and Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara.

More like, "we don't have enough bargaining power to get full length shows, so we're getting all these crappy shorts just to inflate our simulcast numbers and not look pathetic compared to FUNi".

The Teekyuu Bluray releases from Japan have continuous playback modes with or without the OP so if you like you can watch the same 21 minutes (12 + 2 bonus eps, 1.5 minutes each) over and over again forever! You can also alternate between normal audio and several tracks of cast and crew commentary. Some bonus versions have subtitles in Japanese where the dialogue was too fast for even Japanese people to follow.

If you want to hear Teekyuu at normal speed, pick up the OP CDs from the first few seasons when they also included some bonus audio dramas at normal speed. They are actually 4-6 minutes long when speaking normally from the same sized chapters of the manga but it is taken up to 4x speed for the anime.

I like the shorts in general-- not in place of full-length shows (and in brief, I really don't think this is some nefarious plan by CR to boost its numbers-- CR is just licensing what it can, in competition with Funi and others), but as a nice complement. In a busy day, they don't require too much individual time commitment, and can be squeezed in during lunch or whatever. As mentioned also, some of them frankly wouldn't work as full-length episodes.

Incidentally, the Wakakozake drama currently on CR is the second season of the drama or live-action, not really a sequel to the anime short series. Maybe CR can get in the catalogue the first live-action season as well.

I like most of the short titles even though I wished they would last longer.

I like to vary full length shows with shorts. Sometimes I even watch a short during
commercial breaks on tv (we get less breaks but on some channels they last up to 5 minutes).

Muco has me smiling a lot! Other than that I'm happy with the crazy Sekko boys and Galko-chan.
The Tabimachi Lateshow is a nice change of pace from all the other anime out there.

I'm also watching Ojisan and Marshmallow which is a whole different kind of crazy.

I saw one season of JK Meshi but that was enough for me. I have Ooya-san wa shishunki
on my queue but am thinking of dropping it.

All in all I like the availability of more titles.

I Dislike Comedy shorts, I feel that what Azumanga Daioh and Lucky*Star did worked well enough, both of these series I believe were 4-Koma, and while I understand that 2 minute spurts are an easier format to adapt 4-Koma manga to, I much prefer them in the 30 minute timeslot format.

I don't really care about the other genres shorts, though obviously you can't do a decent story arc without people forgetting previous plot points.

EDIT: I just remembered a good show that was an acceptable halfway point. It's called Muromi-san, and it did what I assume was 20 minute timeslot (roughly 15 minutes per episode) which worked pretty well. I'd have to say that 7 minutes is the limit for how much you shorten it, otherwise you end up not having a show, and instead having a single joke per episode. you also lose the necessary pause time between the boke's comment and the Tsukkomi's response which the viewer needs to process the joke, especially those of us who need subtitles.

It's Sekko Boys for sure this season, but I always like to have one or two small things that I can just watch and enjoy without devoting too much time. But past favorites have got to be Poyo Poyo and probably my number one favorite...

ISHIDA & ASAKURA At first I was watching it just to see how bad it was, but it was just so bizarre I ended up thoroughly enjoying it and anticipating the next episode each week. I also binge-watched Wakakozake and it made me very hungry, and I'm delighted to watch the full-length drama version this season.

And then of course, there's always Inferno Cop...

I'm sure there are lots of whiners ... though I did not take the time to read them. I personally love shorts. They are the perfect anime fix when I'm at work or only have a few minutes. My favorite so far is Lovely Muco. It always brings a smile to my face. Keep it up CR
