Honestly curious. Are you a cheerful person?

On the surface I'm usually a pretty cheerful and happy.

The darkness and melancholy reality is inside.

Not as much as i used to be. But having said that i was always pretty quiet as a kid and i've been known to be pretty chill plus used to be a stoner.
I've always been know to be cheerful and funny when drunk.
But nar i feel tired and old these days, i have to get up too early for work that alone makes me not cheerful at all, quite miserable at times even lol..
Plus i get fed up dealing with peoples shit.

I enjoy sadness as much as I do happiness retrospectively in media. Though typically, I put up a comedic front of fake depression, when in reality, I have a very positive outlook on life. I am prone to be sullen from time to time, but I find value in it, as opposed to shame. It has a lot to do with me knowing myself genuinely early on instead of still trying to figure things out and making mistakes.

I appreciate your honesty. I'm a lot like that as well, at least offline anyway. :c

Age isn't kind with tolerance, it seems like the older you get, the less you have for annoying pricks. I don't even bother dealing with shit if I can avoid it.. that's the nice thing about the internet, I guess..

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you're happy being happy. Its not a trait I envy, I find overly cheerful people annoying.

Hey man, that's part of the human experience. I totally feel your pain though. It doesn't matter how well things are going in my own life, outside forces are always the variable. Things can change at the flip of a switch given the proper situation. But I try to remain chill. I try to use humor as a shield when things get rough. It's easier on the soul to laugh through our pain than be absorbed by it.

Depends on the situation. Most of the time I'm fairly level-headed.

Thanks for sharing.I have moments of relief from my depression that I cherish , though I do kind of what you do, only I have a facade of happiness, only I wear that mask half the time and the rest of the time I don't give a shit & act like lydia deetz. Half the time I try to work on enjoying things and feeling better and the rest I realize I can't control it and have to take antidepressants that have more side effects than they work. I live for those moments, try to stay active and busy.

Yeah sure. But sometimes the darkness in me defeated the light in me.

I'm on anti-depressants and anxiety meds which have helped a bit. Still have to watch sinking into the 'black dog' by not seeking negativity to obsess over. It's a genetic thing that has played havoc with my family and situaiion. I try and combat it with awareness of rationality, if that makes any sense?
