It's the point where you are still paralyzed but aware-

I don't know if it can be counted as paranormal, but every so often I suddenly "wake up" in the middle of the night and in the pitch blackness I see a small robed figure floating near the foot of my bed, and I'm frozen in place with me sitting up, and one of my arms reaching towards it. Also, it feels really cold in the room.

It's not really scary, but it's odd enough that I felt like sharing.

So back when I first started my airport job, I was on night shift and every night I was tasked with cleaning the administration wing. It was a typical office setting, the big wigs had their own private offices, while the rest of staff had to work in the cubicles. And at night it was always very quiet, even with planes taking off overhead, and all the people in the lobby area (which the offices overlooked). It was also very still, and it was unnerving. Like a moment before a jump scare, you know something is going to pop out, but you don't know when.

So it was after midnight, and I was vacuuming the carpet with a loud vacuum cleaner; it was so loud that i couldn't hear my work radio, so if anyone paged me, I wouldn't notice. Over the loud droning of the machine, I start to hear whispering. I couldn't make out the words, but there was the sounds of it. I turned off the vacuum and, turn around and nothing there. So I figure its the public in the lobby being loud and get back to work. As soon as I start again, I heard it again, this time a little louder, and seemingly closer. So I turned around again but nothing there. As soon as I turned my back, there came a loud laughing right in my ears. I could feel the heat from the breath with each HA HA HA. So I jump backwards, look around, and there was nothing there. In a panic I checked my work radio, but the battery was dead so nothing could have come from there.

I have never run from a place so fast in my life.

I've never posted on the forums at Crunchyroll, but this thread caught my eye. I'm trying to think how I can best convey this to everyone without writing a whole book as a forum post...

I have had many paranormal experiences in my life. I can't even begin to go into the amount of "paranormal" experiences I've had. At this point they are normal experiences and it's just everyday life. I am Buddhist and Taoist and for the last 10 years I have worked for a Taoist lineage trying to bring the internal martial arts, Taoist meditation, and Taoist chi practices to the west. 90% of the experiences I've read in this thread I've experienced in one way or another and/or I understand the cause of them and they do not surprise me.

In the East (countries like India, China, Japan, Tibet, South East Asia etc.) there are many words that classify different kinds of land spirits, ghosts, demons and other physical or non physical creatures. We do not even have the words in English to begin classifying what for them is common place and codified. In English we just say it's a ghost or a demon. Concepts such as chi or life force energy, karma and reincarnation are just part of many people's daily realities and awareness. For those of us that live in the United States, we need to remember that as far as history goes, the US is an infant and for many people here, history began at breakfast. I've stayed in houses in England and Japan that are older than the United States itself.

One of the reasons I like anime and tend to get bored with a lot of western live action shows is because many of the themes dealt with in anime relate to my daily life and my experiences way more than western live action. Anime can range from realistic to pretty outrageous and improbable (at least in this dimension, quantum physics anyone?). Many anime and manga that lean toward the realistic side of things, but still have paranormal phenomena and esoteric aspects are closer to reality than one might think. It is obvious that the writers have done their research, and are not just making things up, but are speaking from some sort of personal experience or realization. Now it's important to understand that everyone has a different path in life, and just because these anime characters lead extraordinary lives, and just because your life may seem mundane, does not negate the possibility that somewhere in this vast world at this very moment there are individuals leading very incredible lives. The variations and diversity of human destiny are vast.

When it comes to paranormal or psychic phenomena it's very important to make sure you are not deluding yourself. As you start to build up a database of experiences, things make more sense and fit into the bigger picture. This only works if you are brutally honest with yourself about the clarity of your experience. Did you see a figure? Could it have been a shadow or a scratch on your cornea? Then it probably was just a shadow or a scratch on your cornea. It's important to lean towards skepticism and if we do practices that work with energy or psychic phenomena, the gold standard is repeatable experiences. "I can read minds, I can psychically push someone with my energy, I can see ghosts." Can you do it everyday? Can you do it in your room and out in the forest? Can you do it underwater? Can you only do it on full moons? Can you do it standing on your head? I'm being a bit redundant but this is actually quite important as far as verifying that you did what you said you did or saw what you said you saw.

Whether or not people see or experience certain phenomena has a lot to do with an individuals karma, the karma of the land, the karma of a society, and the karma of the planet and humans as a whole at this point in time. But that is an entirely seperate subject, I already wrote a lot which most people will probably never read, and all of this is not exactly casual dinner conversation to begin with.

I see the future when I dream.

I then proceed to almost always forget it until it actually happens.

Almost.

I've had over two decades of paranormal experiences. From seeing glowing white mist, dark shadows, "black heads" (demonic), hearing entities say my name, hearing unexplained noises, sensing spirits when they are around me, seeing full body apparitions. And lots more. I find it intriguing that some people have never experienced anything. Being in tune with the spirits runs in my family (probably because of our Haudenosaunee and Cherokee heritage).

None.

Every time I read an anecdote about paranormal experiences, for e.g. "I saw objects move", "I saw children", I just laugh and think those people are missing several screws.

I used to get sleep paralysis quite often. That shit was scary. Outside of that I don't really believe in the paranormal.

None damn it. I use to love the supernatural and the occult but after searching for years I never found anything. I lost my religion, cue the R.E.M song.

I found a $20 note lying on the ground. Picked it up, and spent it on chugging out gumballs from a machine.

I agree completely, which is why I am no longer into New Age stuff. I never had any real experiences, and the few people shared were either ridiculous or obvious coincidence.

I've had over two decades of paranormal experiences.

Your age is listed on Crunchyroll as being 22. You were really having credible paranormal experiences when you were 2 years old?

None.

I like to be as open-minded as possible, but yeah, most "experiences" are either very weak or obviously fake.
