Usually I am all for feminism, but I don't think you should breastfeed in public. Women are not allowed to show off their boobs in any other circumstances.

The worst thing is when they do it in restaurants. You are not allowed to brush or comb your hair in restaurants. Well, I'd rather see someone brushing their hair than see a woman with her tit lobbed out when I'm trying to eat

Just don't gawk at her breasts while she's feeding her hungry child. look away and your problem is solved?

Well......sometimes you can't really look away without making it obvious and like the previous poster said...I mean, do you really wanna see someone's titty in a restaurant?

I mean, if I see someone doing it, I'm not gonna be an arse about it because I don't know the circumstances...

If a woman is breast feeding in a restaurant that I'm in, I really couldn't care less. I know she's feeding her hungry child. Why should she be confined to feeding her child in hot, cramped cars or nasty restrooms while in public. Why does what she's doing for her children offend you? Breasts are natural, non-sexual organs that you shouldn't be offended by. Are you upset if a woman is wearing a low cut shirt? Do bikini's offend you?

Oh screw you. I never said I got offended!

It's something that I don't know if I could do myself, but if someone else wants to do it, then it is what it is. Jesus Christ....I never freaking said I was offended by tits....

If I was offended by tits, you'd think I'd on an anime site?

For the most part I don't care one way or the other what people do in public, but I am also not very sympathetic if it draws unwanted attention.

As for restaurants, I find screaming children infinitely more annoying.

By all means any woman can breastfeed in public, just don't make to obvious or anything like that.I don't find it disturbing, I find it nice when a mom forgets about her nudity and all that crap because she cares more about her child's health.

Feed your kid and let the people who have no boobs be jealous like always

Never seen it myself, but I don't care. Let them feed their child.

It's not that I think it's bad. It's obviously normal.

But considering the many pervs in the world. Some I fear may even attempt something in public. Is the main reasons it shouldn't be allowed I think. More or less to protect woman.

Really! people are complaining about women breasting feeding in public this more pathetic than any of the other garbage people come up with that'll spark a controversy. Women are given the option to either breast feed in public or in a private area. I'm not against women breast feeding in public, but as long as the woman covers herself. They're free to do as they please to provide their child with nourishment. Also, guys be respectful and advert you attention elsewhere. Even if you're caught by surprise, just be respectful, and don't continue to gaze at the women breast feeding. I understand guys are interested into those kind of things, but don't become a total pervert. Alright!!!

It seems awkward, but I can't think of a good reason it shouldn't be allowed. I suppose it's fine with me.

Like most issues, this isn't black and white, really.

From a personal standpoint, I really don't care myself. I have only seen a woman breastfeed in public once without any kind of cover, and I didn't really care. I don't see what is wrong with it at all. (And it was when I was in Canada, where I think (but am not sure) that it's allowed by law.)

From a societal standpoint, things look (as they always do) differently.

In our culture, female breasts are a sexual object. Try to vehemently deny this as some of you will, it's honestly just a fact. Yes, you can sexualize ankles, as someone in this thread has said, but ankles are not seen by our society as sexual. Yes, breasts do additionally serve a utilitarian function, but so too do our other sexualized parts (scrotum, anus, vagina, penis, whatever) and we don't allow those to be shown for the very same reason.

As Prince Judar alluded to, the day you can grab someone's boob and elicit the same reaction as if you had grabbed their shoulder is the day that we don't have that sexual objectification.

Anywho, back to the topic of breastfeeding. Any parent who goes out in public with their child goes prepared. Any of you that have been parents knows exactly what this means. You bring all sorts of things with you, from blankets and bottle to diapers, wipes, and hand sanitizer. This is just the normal thing for parents to do, be it mothers or fathers. (Or Uncles of twins with plenty of beard hair to clutch.)

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever you could logically give me that you are prevented from bringing a cover for your baby. Use a blanket, or even use covers specifically designed for breast-feeding, and then breast-feed all you want.

Is there some reason that women have for wanting to expose themselves that I don't understand?

I hate children in public, especially on the train. So I have thought of a wonderful suggestion that will suit EVERYONE. Ban kids from public BAM.
