I kinda got bored of WoW pre-BC, heck, pre-AQ Not enough play for a casual/lazy person like myself. Plus all those PvP evils started moving to my lovely RP server

The one fun thing with internet, game and computer addictions, under a small technicality, they're not classed as actual addictions ^^ Go figure.

Generally, so long as a person doesn't avoid life to play a game, there's nothing wrong. When all your employment and education type situations are met, and you can pay bills, what you do in your spare time is your choice, so long as it doesn't affect other people anyway ^^

Heck, i'm sure many people have got a new game and spent a good day or three straight playing it now and then ^^

Yeah, I usually get addicted to a game when I first get it and play it lots and lots. Then, when I feel like I'e exhausted all the possible things to do in the game (or get bored of the storyline, since I really like playing games with storylines in them), I don't get addicted anymore, if that makes sense.

IMO, addiction would be when you can no longer determine the difference between the games and real life. If you want to play until the wee hours of the night, sure, go ahead. But if you want to forget that you have friends and family and a school/job/whatever you do during the day, then there's potentially a problem there.

^Well put I cant see how that is possibly addicting. Guess its all about anticipating what a person will type next...
Well unexpectedly I was addicted to the momrpg WoW. I don't even know how that became possible. Played for about a month. But had the game for 4.....Maybe it was the absence of my Xbox 360..... Well said to myself while playing "Wtf am I dong this shit is boring as hell"... Ever since that day I`ve stopped playing games on my Comp... But i`m still a AC4 and Rainbow Six Vegas faithful.

there is nothing wrong with loving games and spending a lot of time on them, but when it starts to interfere with real life, i'd say that gaming addiction is a bad thing. as long as you can control yourself, there's nothing wrong with it :). the key is moderation!

however, if you're young (like under 16), i say enjoy the games while you still can because once you get older, you won't have the time like you used to . but don't spend so much time that you don't have any friends, fail all your classes, etc etc..

if anything, try to stay away from mmorpgs like wow. those are the kind of games that tend to get people addicted to it like crack way more than a normal console game where you're just playing by yourself...

to me, i think dat people hu think games are bad are idiots.. mostly they are parents hu think this way cos their children throw temper over games or something and they blame it all on the games but think about it, it was them hu didn't control their kids in the first place and they make something small into a big thing making the kid throw even more temper

i used to have game addiction. now i play it once in a while. i thought i would be addicted to games forever but i thought wrong. not only did i sort of lost the urges but also the sequels to my favorite series, the tony hawk series, started becoming very stale. underground was amazing. everything after that was trash. tony hawk proving ground seems promising but so did project 8 and i despise that game. hopefully they redeem themselves with the next installment. if not then there's also ea skate which actually looks better than the new tony hawk game.

Its not bad to enjoy the games you play, since if u dont what the hell r u playing in the first place? But, u should limit urself to about 3 hurs a day max!

From personal experience, i was addicted to animal crossing(i know stop laughing!) to the point where eating and bathing was almost neglected! And that was during school days back in grade 10! Boy, that sure screwed me up, my grades fell so much that i was just passing my classes with 50%!

So for the later grades i recommend that you DO fully enjoy the games u play but only limit that enjoyment to 3 hrs MAX!!! Im positive that this will help curbe the addiction at least for a bit, since in the later grades, ur gonna get fuked if u dont buck up and study!!!!
