So, I like to start a video loading, pause it, and do something else why I wait for it to load. My net speed is not the best (tops out at 200kbs ), but for the most part it works fine. However, for what ever reason, buffer limits are on all websites now, and I don't get why.

There is a way around it on YouTube, and I was wounding if there was a way to get a video to 100% buffer on here too. If there is not, then I will just have to deal with it, but if there is, I would love to know.

Thank you very much.

I don't know if Crunchyroll has a way to buffer the whole video, but my guess is no (just because if I leave a video paused for 5+ minutes it usually completely breaks and I have to reload the page).

You might want to try asking customer support if no one knows here.

I see what you are trying to pull here, good stuff

I think people have asked about buffer on CR before, and some users suggested it was part of the content protection. Or it could be the player is just not very good.

the wired thing is, it feels like its buffering a percentage, rather than a set amount of the videos. e.g. the longer the video is, the longer I can go after pausing it for a bit before it stops again. RWBY is a goo example of this, as season 1 is around 6 min average time per ep, but I am pausing the same amount as if I was watching a 25 min anime show.

I've moved this over to Site support. There isn't a way to fully buffer the videos on CR.

Well, that's a shame. What is CR's reasoning for it? And would there be any way for this type of thing to become a premium + feature? Because, if it was, I would differently pay the extra to get full buffering.

The explanation I've heard in the past is that it's intended as an anti-piracy measure.

Yeah, but its not. If people want to pirate something, they will do it. There are plugins you can get for Firefox that let you download videos from sites like this, buffer limit or not.

Crunchyroll use to have a buffer loading thingy, but it doesn't do that anymore but I don't know why though. I don't even know or understand why you guys are talking about pirating on here.

Anyways, back to topic, personally, it already somewhat load fast, so I don't think there's a need to have a buffer. Unless you have bad internet connection that takes forever to load, then possibly it'll be a problem for you/others.

The player on the website itself only loads what is being played; I don't understand how that is fast at all. No need for buffering? Huh? I've seen people w/ blazing fast internet speeds (including myself) that have issues periodically w/ CR's video player. It needs a serious update. Not later, not next year, NOW.

I have really bad internet to be honest. It goes on and off a lot, but somehow even without internet, I was able to finish an episode, so I guess it does have buffering, I don't really know. It's best to get a staff's actual response to this.

No, there IS NO buffering at all. It's already been confirmed numerous times; it only loads what is being played. That's part of the DRM they have in place so no one can rip the video (why do you think pausing the video for more than 5 minutes breaks it?). Personally, I think it's stupid because it's hindering a lot of their consumers.
