As someone with a lot of ingenuity and problem-solving skills, I can assure you that no, being extremely intelligent (or logical, as I prefer to call it) does not equate to also being creative. I have no access to that side of my brain unless I'm dreaming. I can draw logic from things many people consider subjective or vague, though.

Can't say I'd sacrifice what I have for creativity, any of it.

If you replied " I'm both" or that thought even crossed your mind, it absolutely means you're neither.

The quoted comment is definitely on the shortlist for the most retarded thing I've heard or read all year so far. Anyone possessing "extreme intelligence" ought to have a fairly realistic appraisal of themselves, and even if they do not, they could hardly have failed by the age of six or seven to notice they operate with "more than the others" of something that distinguishes people so obviously as intelligence. How would anyone be highly intelligent, and yet too stupid and devoid of any capacity for self-reflection to realize that they possess either this quality or an abundance of creativity? People lacking both qualities may elect to believe otherwise out of wishful thinking, sure, but any person who actually does have them would never be so fundamentally ignorant of their own abilities. A grotesque propensity for false humility may prevent them from admitting to their excellence in these regards, but inwardly, they always know.
