I don't see any profanity, harmful language, open threats, or anything that violates a person's rights there. So what's the problem...?

-ah, you're quoting someone else for your quote. Maybe that's the issue here? If not, then I don't know what your school is doing...

AT LEAST, you have a yearbook.

I don't have a yearbook. The whole seniors don't have a yearbook.

The seniors did this BURN BOOK (inspired by the movie Mean Girls) and it got found out by the principal.

My high school only chose a few students whose quotes were deemed worthy to print. I was one of the lucky few.

It's not your fault. School seems too sensitive in this case. There's nothing inappropriate in your quote. I'm guessing they just saw "gay marriage" and reacted like idiots to it without really reading your quote.

I wouldn't go so far as to say nothing should be censored, so I cannot agree with you on that. But I do think the school has no good reason to censor your quote.

Gay marriage: This isn't 1930 anymore. It's gaining traction and is it's pretty obvious it's legal now unless you live under a rock.
Climate change: The vast majority of reputable scientists agree that humans are causing climate change. No issues here.
Vaccines: Again, only an insignificant minority is against vaccines. It's almost universally recognized that vaccines do more harm than good, and this is backed by many years of research and the fact you no longer see certain diseases in countries with a high percentage of its citizens vaccinated.
Gun rights: Probably the only thing that would predictably stir up strong feelings in a large number of people, but it's not the main point of the quote.

Fun fact. Mine was: "The best remedy for a big ego is a little failure." And I also write something for an inscription at my college: "Conjuring up the past is not remembering; it is replacing."
